never seen this before. not old to me. thanks! doesnt look like a big improvement tho besides the lighting. motogp 1.5
 
Can someone do side-by-side comparison pics of this and Polyphony Digital's Tourist Trophy? That might be interesting, not trying to start a flame-fest, though. These shots kick.

The first one especially could easily be mistaken for a photo at first glance.

can't say this impresses me really. the PD stuff on PS2 looks just as good. these backgrounds need dramatic work, which is probably just because its early. if i were them, i wouldn't show this until it has A LOT more work done to it. it appears to early in development to really come off as next-gen.

Except for the blue haze these Moto GP 2006 shots looks pretty damn good still PD has that perfect lighting and color thing going on that is simply jaw dropping imo. The physics will be the true test, I cant wait for either game.
 
I have failed to troll a single 360 game becuase I really haven't found them that bad but this is definetly too early to be shown off it looks worse then the regular xbox games , volumetric grass aside... and actually that's kind of shitty grass anyway.
 
I swear to God, some of you need to just quit gaming altogether. You really do. You're obviously going to be disappointed with every single screenshot of every single game you see, so why not sell all your consoles and games, and save yourselves the future bitter disappointment of every game not achieving your exacting grass standards?

That said, this game is already looking impressive.
 
I'm assuming that above comment was directed at me , what with having the only negative opinion, HEAVENS FORFEND AN OPINION ON A MESSAGE BOARD!!!

With the exception of Gun and Tony hawk, every 360 game I've seen pics of looks good as far as I'm concerned. This is another to add to the pile with Gun and Tony Hawk, why ? well its early. There aren't any special effects turned on, just some simple lighting and decent poly bikes with a bigger stand in the background... a stand that looks empty. The game has lofty goals in mind and I"m sure it'll turn around fine given what climax has done this gen but for now those screens are shit, you'd have to be blind not to see it.
 
has any mention been made of a release date for this? that should be a good indicator of how far along it is...

IMO, it looks pretty good. its certainly a bigger upgrade then gun and tony hawk. i'm excited for it cause i know the game is awesome and i've skipped the latest on xbox.

If it's next year's edition (as it sounds), it'll probably release in August--1 and 2 released in May, 3 in August.
 
You shouldn't swear to God.

If you're not a believer, then of what purpose is their to swear to an entity you don't believe in?

If you are a believer, the bible says not to swear, but to "let your yes be yes and your no be no".

By either account, swearing to God only has a negative impact on your statement, not giving your statement any more weight as you were no doubt hoping for.

Ive never understood the reasoning as to why you shouldnt say "I swear to God" and I dont understand the logic behind Eel's use of the phrase. I would understand what someone is saying if they would say, "I swear to God this is my last cigarette." Eel's use seems to be on the same level as "Oh my God' yet there is a problem with the word 'swear'. I remember some girl in elementry school telling me, "You shouldn't swear." after I said, "I swear I did not touch it." I figured she was just a dumb bitch and didnt understand that 'swearing', using naughty words, was different from making a promise.

...anyways why are you not to swear to God? or was that just confused with swearing AT God?
 
As much as I love the MGP series, these screens look nastacular.

The only thing you can swear on is God, because nothing else is worthy of swearing upon.

I'm not sure I understand your question here... but are you asking what is God's reason? or if you don't believe, why does the bible say not to swear? if so, then I don't know... i could only guess. Says something about it being from "the evil one" though.

But if you mean literally, then it's because if you believe, then Jesus says in the bible to not to swear, but instead "let your yes be yes and no be no' - Matthew 5:37". Meaning if someone asks you a question, you should not have to swear an oath to God that you are telling the truth.

If you are not a believer, then you shouldn't swear to God, being that you don't believe anyhow; and any oath swearing to God would be an empty shallow oath. It would be the same as someone swearing to little green alien men that they are telling the truth.

and btw, in this context, to 'swear to God' means basically that you are 'swearing an oath to God' [that you are telling the truth]. the implication is that you should believe the person more concretely that they are telling the truth, because of this oath.

Forgive me if I misread your question though. :)

i wonder ho wmany bikes this game will support. how many does the actual races have?
 
i don't think they've said yet. the game looks to be quite early. I doubt that's been finalized for sure anyhow.

the first games had quite a few though. i know multiplayer alone had 16... so i would expect at least that many... minimum.
 
At E3, the Climax guys told me they had just started working on it. So the game is probably 6-8 months into development.

I'm sure the backgrounds will be more fleshed out later in the development cycle, but they already look damn good.
 
WHAT? That can't be 360. By these screens (knowing that Tourist Trophy ones are from the Antialiased intro, but in-game models and textures) TT >>>>>> MotoGP360, by far.

That motogp360 must be a fake, early,early,early build, pre-alpha, or something, it is too ugly for a console that has PGR3.

I smell damage control. C'mon, that IS NOT next-gen (and we have proof of it :) ) As Gek has said, we must wait for the final version, but IMO the screens in this thread or not worth next-gen.

Obviously it's early. This will destroy anything PD can wring out of the PS2 when all is said and done, no question. I just wonder what they'll bring to the table: new physics, bring back sim settings, expand on the "extreme" courses somehow. I'd like to see them bring back the Challenges--maybe make them online. And of course, AI. We need some next gen AI (and not just for this, any racing game from now on).
