When 2 Chainz issued a cookbook, he focused on dishes that could be pulled off in the small confines of a tour bus. Boy George looked at macrobiotic cooking for his, while Coolio opted for comfort foods with a healthful twist (he termed it “Ghetto Gourmet”). Liberace's recipes were curated from his seven dining rooms.

Enter Ja Rule, who found his inspiration for his new microwave cuisine cookbook during a recent stay behind bars. The rapper's recipes require a microwave, unshackled hands and not much else.

The rapper recently announced on Geoffrey Zakarian's SiriusXM show, “Food Talk,” that he plans on issuing a cookbook with microwave-based recipes inspired by his prison stint.

During his time at the Ray Brook federal prison in upstate New York, Rule barely touched the cafeteria food because, he said, he and his cellmates were able to cook “decent enough” food in their dorms.

"[The food inside] is not too good, but you get packages and stuff like that. You can eat pretty good. You can eat decent enough," he told TMZ. "I ate everything. In jail, they're pretty crafty. We made lasagna, we made cheesecakes, we had lots of things. I really didn't eat prison food."

When the yet-to-be-titled book comes out, you too can make “decent enough” food, but without the colored jumpsuits and the lingering threat to your safety. Best of all, you don’t need a shank to julienne veggies!

There’s already plenty of cookbooks out there that require nothing more than a zapper and creativity -- “Microwave Cooking for One, ” “A Man, a Can, a Microwave,” “Not Your Mother’s Microwave Cookbook,” to name a few -- but none can boast recipes actually tested by the Queens-bred rapper. Ja ruled the early aughts with singsongy anthems such as “Between Me and You,” “Always on Time” and “Put It on Me,” and he gave Jennifer Lopez more street cred than Sean “Diddy” Combs did.

No word on what Rule has planned for his book. Just please don’t have dishes such as Maximum Microloaf (we didn’t make that one up) on the menu.

In May, the rapper was released from prison early after a two-year stint. He was serving time concurrently after pleading guilty to weapons possession and tax evasion charges.

Rule’s plans make us ponder what kind of wonderment Martha Stewart whipped up during her time in the big house?

Ja Rule denies cookbook plans, says it was just a joke:

However, it seems Ja Rule – real name Jeffrey Atkins – was none the wiser about the plans and laughed off the reports, admitting via Twitter that the rumours were false. “So I hear I'm writing a cookbook this is news to me lmao..,” Ja Rule tweeted yesterday.

“Ok so I guess I'm doing a cookbook lol. The power of media it was a joke but I am a microwave master ha!!!” he added.
