movement on the 'Xboy' Microsoft handheld front ?

if MS really wants to get into the portable game, this is what they HAVE to do, add a web browser with the multimedia (audio, video,& pictures) & a nice sized hdd. all of this for $300 or less & i'm sold.

which would be like the PSP ...except without the games no one plays, and with a HDD that everyone wants ! :P

They're gonna have to pull out all stops to try and produce a bit of hardware comparable to the Godly PSP, but if anybody can do it MS can.

EXACTLY!!

if the hdd is big enough, it'd be like a removable hdd that i could store all my rare 2pac joints & some porn. :D

xbla would be great cuz u could get the quirky games that seem to be working for the DS.

MS can't lose with something like this.

An "XBoy" would actually probably be aimed moreso at Apple's i-Pod ... you know it's gotta eat Microsoft execs up inside to see how successful that is, but MS could never create a standard MP3 player and have it be more popular than the i-Pod.

They'd have to include gaming and multimedia functionality to have a shot.

* NEW*

The Micro$oft XtremeB0y

- play Halo in handheld-format!
- built-in instant messenger
- internet access
- take pictures with the in-built camera and send them to your friends via XTREME-Live
- add-ons coming soon..

Interesting prospect. Certainly, a Windows-compatible Xboy with the game-playing and convergence features of PSP would be a natural fit for all the millions of us who live and work with Windows-based PCs every day. Seems to me they're all set up for success.

Which is another reason I think Microsoft's going to find their way into all our living rooms one way or the other, too.

I sketched this up right before leaving for CES. See if you guys can decipher all the features and functiuons:

I'm going out to dinner with my friends so you have about an hour and a half of making fun of me without me replying back. :lol

i like how the left "stick" is a PSP style lame sliddy thing ...while the right one is an actual stick ...and for FPS that would work great really, the aiming is more important anyway !

i dunno, looks cool to me, i would buy it :P

This defies MS primary reason for entering the console realm. How does making a handheld help them win the living rooms around the world?

The position of the right analog stick in very clever.
If this happens in the future I hope that is powerful enough to make a straight port of Halo:CE

I wonder how many times Microsoft will have to say "we have no interest in manufacturing a handheld gaming device" before people will believe they have no interest in manufacturing a handheld gaming device.

Until they finally make one and it flops.

Oh hellz no. That would be like 2010 at the earliest timeframe for such powerful portable hardware at that pricepoint! I'd be more than happy with 25% of Halo: CE in graphics, AI and physics but 75% of the gameplay in 2006/2007.

Today we had one of our regular customers (and friend of one of our employees) come in and say he had played the Xbox handheld. It was basically the S Controller with a screen in the middle. He also claimed he knew somebody whose brother worked it Microsoft and said Halo 3 would be out by the end of the year.

It's a good thing I wasn't near any large, blunt objects. I mean really, who just makes this stuff up?
