Moving... for the second time this year

I recently moved to my current place back in April, but now I'm moving out again this weekend, mainly due to my roommate situation. Basically it came down to me paying all the bills and for food, gas, etc and it was really upsetting me because he didn't have a steady job and sat around all summer doing nothing.

I finally had it and talked to my mom who is offering me a brand new place that she'd be paying for and would pay for bills, food etc, so the deal was really hard for me to pass up. After a lot of thought and irritations at my job being the final straw, I accepted the offer and will be leaving.

Now, I've thought about it, and I know it isn't fair for my roommate because it's rather short notice, but I'm tired of living pay check to pay check. He is trying to get me to stay, but I don't think I can do it. I think I need some serious alone time, heh.

What I will be doing is giving him my couch and table set because I won't be needing it. Mind you, they're leather so they're at least worth something. I will be taking the HDTV however, even though we did go in together on it. I think it's a fair trade for that I've done for the guy and he won't be able to use it for anything since I own the game consoles.
Is that fair? Am I being fair to him? I've been friends with this guy for 9 years now and lately it's been intolerable for me. Originally I wasn't even going to go through with this, but now I think I have to for my own sanity.

How about you do this..... kick the roommate out, your mom still pays for your place, food and gas and you tell your friend/roommate to fuck off?

Seriously.

He won't pay bills, but he will help pay for an HDTV? That pretty much says it all

Well, we bought the TV back in December or so and there wasn't an issue like there is now.

I've moved a number of times this year,

back in January I moved my stuff out of my college apartment because I had graduated in December.

My girlfriend and I then spent a month living with her friend. Then a month renting a room in a house after I got a job while we saved up money for an apartment. Then 5 months in an apartment before we had to leave because of a our dog. Now we live in a cozy little house.

I hate moving.

What was this topic about again?

Your parents are going to be paying all your bills? What, do they pay for your car and gas, too?

Haha, no. My car is already paid off by me. And I'll be paying for gas and school books and what not.

The place I'll be moving too is basically my mom's condo but she's never there because she works in a different state. Rather than it remain empty, she offered it to me to live in.

Looking for a new room-mate?

I have consoles and games!

So lucky. I want to move out but I just can't afford living on my own at the moment. Technically I could, but I'd barely be able to save any money with my salary and expenses. :(

Yeah. The best part about me moving out will be that I'll be able to save up a bunch of money.

GAF: My roommate is a lazy leeching bastard and my mother is offering me a condo free of charge, should I take it?

I would have been packed and out the door the moment the sun rose :lol

Your moving out because you pay all the bills, food, gas, etc and your roomate pays nothing, but yet your mom is just going to be paying all your bills, food, gas, etc? Your no better then your friend if you ask me.

j/k I would so do that if I could ha ha

Is your roommate overweight and recently took a train to spend a few days with an old friend from high school after calling him up last minute?

Final outcome ended up being me moving. In fact I'm already at my new place and really like it so far.
