edit also there was an old rumor that the card used to pass on the secondary vid settins to your monitor (blowing the monitor) I dunno first thing I always do when I upgrade my drivers is disable the "secondary 9800 pro" in my devices.

Yeah, I don't use that. I just disabled it. I hope my Sapphire 9800 Pro doesn't burn out.

'secondary' can be what you want ( second monitor, a classic tv, hdtv, .... )

For me it was my tv

yeah but the computer was turned off ( still plugged in though )

Try and get it replaced...it's obvious you didn't overclock it if it's to do with TV-out.

I guess if they don't accept it, it might be a good excuse to get an x800 or 6800

I'm gonna call hercules support monday morning. They better replaced it

to elaborate anything connected to anything that is plugged into when a storm hits is in danger



Ive seen pcs blown turned off with surge protection from lighting im so anal about mie I even unplug my nic cable incase a surge comes in from the router in the other room

After much talking and emailing (they lost my package) , i just received my brand new ATI 9800 PRO.
