I need the help of anyone who could possibly know what the fuck is going on with my computer.
There are two things drastically wrong with my computer. The first- if I have my iPod connected to my computer, which is a IBM-based PC, it will not boot the computer. The minute I remove the iPod, however, it boots right up. Now, it's not harming anything, but it is fucking annoying, and I want to fix it.
The second is the worst thing that's probably ever happened to me on any computer. The computer, at random, will lock up all processes and stop booting the computer for about 5-10 seconds. Then, everything will resume as normal for another 5-10 seconds. THEN IT WILL FREEZE AGAIN! It continues this cycle until I am sufficiently pissed off and I manually shut down the computer. This cannot be good. I'm probably going to have to format, but I wanted to see if any of you guys can think of a quicker, less painful solution.
I've taken the following measures already: I've used RegistryFix, used HijackThis to destroy rogue processes, deleted a whole lot of useless programs, defraged, chkdisked, and reinstalled World of Warcraft (the game is basically a virus anyway, maybe a newer copy would make it work. It did not, obviously)
