My dinner is better than your dinner

I just went to my mom's apartment to drop off some stuff to her and she decided to repay me with some dinner. She made some fish tea! DELISCOUS! I haven't had any in such a long time! Made me miss back home on the island.

I'm glad Grandpa porked a Chinese Muslim
What is fish tea and fish pudding anyway? As for me, I just grilled up a burger without a bun, but with minced garlic mixed into the ground beef, sauteing some onions and mushrooms thanks to a tip from somebody in MAF's lunch vote thread. Also had some mashed potatos made from flakes. Yummy, but if this fish tea is as good as you say, then I guess your dinner was better. I usually have better dinners when I go back to my parents' place than when I cook for myself.

i had sushi for dinner. A yummy roll (a spicy tuna fried tempura-style), and six pieces of sashimi (four yellowtail and two tuna belly). As hungry as i was, the yummy roll and two pieces of sashimi filled me up. The rest were just my mouth talking, but i couldn't resist a few more pieces. ^_^

I don't know what the hell fish pudding is. But fish tea is sort of a broth made from fish. Its a jamaican dish. I have no clue how my mom makes it. It does have a lot of dried thyme in it though. Its flavor is divine though. My taste buds had an orgasm in my first post... hence my poor spelling. :p

So it's soup, Cimarron? Does it have chunks of fish in it & stuff? Do you eat it with a spoon or do you just sip from the bowl / cup?

I mean if it's so good then I wanna know about it :)

Its kinda like soup. You do drink it in a cup. I don't know what type of fish you use but its very delicate. The fish meat "melts" in your mouth when you drink it. Very tasty indeed.

I can't stand most fish when it's cooked. It has that 'fishy' taste most of the time, and I can't stand that.

That's what makes sushi such a suprise. I had imagined that suchi would taste mega fishy, but it was such a glorious suprise to find out that it tastes like nothing of the sort, that I nearly shat my pants the first time I had it.

I know it sounds odd.

It's just got an overly fishy taste. Some fish doesn't taste like that, though. That I can enjoy.

Salmon is easily one of the fishiest-tasting fish you can get. Most other fish are pretty mild, unless they're not fresh. The older the fish, the more of a strong ammonia scent and pronounced fishy taste it'll have.

Thanks for the info! I'll take that into account when I go out shopping for fish now.
