Dead. Gone. It doesn't start up. It just keeps on resetting itself. The Apple logo just comes on and off and you can hear the hard drive stop and start. Diagnostic did nothing. Reset does nothing. It's dead. Piece of shit.

That happened to me once but i just put it back on the dock and it started up the next time i pushed on. I thought mine was dead too

under warranty still? Apple was more than happy to replace my original iPod, 364 days into the contract


edit: did you do the hard reset, where you plug the iPod directly into the outlet (not through the base) and hold down the menu & start/pause keys (this is assuming you have 3G)?

I've already tried everything. Nothing works. I've had the iPod since June of 2003. So I highly doubt Apple will do shit with it.

Leave it on the charging dock for a day and then see if it starts up..maybe thats just a bunch of crap i'm telling you but ya never know.

It was already connected to the adapter. I'm in Disk Mode right now. I'm probably going to format it.

System restore worked. All songs gone, but oh, well. I don't use it on the Go anyways; it's for my guitars.
