This little live disc is an absolute gem. Every track is strikingly beautiful, and Jim James' voice has a real fragility and intent about it. His words are so honest that it's almost impossible not to like something this pure. "Don't let your silly dreams fall in between the crack of the bed and the wall." Perfect.
The recording quality is great and the echo from James' voice can send chills down your spine. It's just a really damn good album, and perfect for a laid back morning, afternoon, or evening. It just sounds like a guy jamming away on his acoustic in his bedroom and singing to the walls. It's pretty stripped down. I especially like Golden, which is totally slowed down from the album version, and love Bermuda Highway, which is just really damn pretty. If you have any interest at all in My Morning Jacket, don't hesitate to pick this up. It's super cheap, since it's only 5 tracks and clocks in at a little over 25 minutes. I've listened to it for hours already.
