blue screens of death with, MULTIPLE_IRP_COMPLETE_REQUESTS, think it might have been a hardware conflict or something, but is generally random. I've also been having a horrible time connecting to the internet keeps dialing and nothing more just sits at dialing (adsl.)

I got that error, MULTIPLE_IRP_COMPLETE_REQUESTS. I just turned off my computer, opened it up, and put a huge fan up against my computer and let that run for about an hour. I also unplugged all of my devices and plugged them back, checking for faulty connections. When all was said and done, everything was working great.

I lost everything I had on my HD last night. The sound suddenly stopped working, so I figured it was a driver problem. Stuck what I thought was the right CD in, rebooted, and it reinstalled XP, erasing everything. :\

Fortunately most of the stuff I have is on an external HD, and all of that's fine. But I lost all my emulators/roms, recently-downloaded anime, iTunes music (SUCKS), games installed, etc. Could be a lot worse I guess, since I didn't have anything important...

I feel your pain Lyte. I've had some unfortunate data loss myself. One huge one was due to Maxtor's faulty engineering. The other was all on me. I was trying to format a zip disk, and for whatever reason, it wouldn't let me. That didn't sit right w/ me, so I kept hitting 'right click' 'format' on the drive letter.

Apparetnly my hand slipped a bit and went down to the drive that had all my multimedia stuff (music, pics, video). Formatted the b!tch.

My jaw dropped for real!

Looking back, ctrl Z might have saved me, but I doubt it.

just my 9800pro, i think its something to do with my adsl modem now, everytime i yank it out of the pc i get the MULTIPLE_IRP_COMPLETE_REQUESTS. I hate things like this, so bloody hard to figure out wtf is wrong
