Gravity is a myth, the Earth SUCKS!
A friend and I had decided that my hand me down pc was just not cutting it. It is a 900 celeron with 256 sdram (not even an agp slot ). My friend brought me over a 1700+ cpu and a compatible motherboard. Upon inspection we found out that the motherboard sure as hell wouldn't fit without heavy modification. First of all the tower wasn't even atx form factor and was a pain in the ass to get apart because of hp's genius design. After an hour of aggravating work we decided that the stock tower just wasn't going to cut it. As an act of aggitation I joked "does this thing really need to be in a tower anyway?" My friend quibbed back saying that we should throw the components into his desk and connect it, and that it'd be really cool. So we found an empty drawer and started connecting pc components. After getting everything together we decided to test it out. We threw in my old geforce2 gts and turned her on. I noticed immediately there was smoke coming from the card. We removed the card, and then cleaned the contacts to make sure nothing would short again. To our dismay it happened once more and we were forced to remove it. After inserting 2 more cards with similar results we came to the conclusion that the agp slot was to blame and we'd wasted 3 perfectly fine graphics cards. I was forced to revert the components to their original configuration and order a new rig. Here's how everything looks now, with my old celeron system in the drawer next to my desk. It's what I'm typing this message from.

That is the very definition of a ghetto system. You should email this to [H]ardOCP.

PS: If that is a metal desk, you run a high risk of shorting out the motherboard.

the only danger of that would would be it crushing something.....it was empty. We also put a rubber mat on the bottom to help prohibit the board from energizing the drawer.
