My visa in Mexico expires soon...should I go to Florida or Texas? Never been to either one.

So from where I'm at, the Yucatan - the only non-stop flights are:

Fort Lauderdale, FL
Miami, FL
Dallas, TX
Denver, CO

So I'm thinking Texas or Florida.

Florida seems nicer at the moment but I'm guessing a bit more pricey for someone on a budget. If I choose Florida, would you recommend Miami or Fort Lauderdale?

I'm not planning on seeing many sights or nightlife. This is purely because my visa is running out. I might fly back to Mexico after about a week. But I thought - since I've never been to either of these states, might as well spent some days seeing what it's like.

All are pretty good choices. I'm in Puebla City...Yucatan is better than the Florida ones you listed. I'd rather be in Yucatan myself; I hate being landlocked.

There is not much to see in Texas. Its a good place to live, boring to visit.

Austin can be kinda cool I guess.

Dallas is fine and a great place to live, but not a place with sights unless you enjoy shopping.
