Myrient is back as Minerva Archive

Back as in the entire archive. An "under new management" situation that won't have issues with hosting costs in the future due to the decentralized nature of the project

Gaming needed a W. This is it

I just want to thank the whole community that made Myrient and now this.
That archive is simply unbelievable. I… browsed it this past month for… science, and what's in there just boggles the mind.

As happy as I am for this, I hope this doesn't blow up in the news too much. There is no good to be had by too many people finding out that this exists.

Holy S***! I spent the last minutes of Myrent on their Discord waiting for the inevitable. Im so glad for this, the best archive, no ads, fast downloads, no BS. What a gem of a collectionalmost 400 terabytes.

Great they saved it, massive caveat is now its all just torrent links and so download speed is not remotely comparable to how it was before, I could download at my max line speed most of the time before. I'd rather they have made it a monthly fee to access it (for the hosting costs) and get that ease of access back. I would pay money if I knew it would let me download large roms in seconds like before.

Theres sites where you can pay a flat cost for a certain amount of download allowance, for one of them I pay 10 euros and get 10TB of download that lasts indefinitely but they take 0.01 cents a day if you download nothing.

As it stands now the download speed is too slow, I would lose interest in dipping back into an old game for the afternoon if it takes 8 hours to download, or I'd go and source the rom elsewhere that could provide higher download speeds. I understand why they've chosen to do it like this but thats just the reality of how I play emulated games, since theres the configuration time after that download too.
