Nagoshi Studios listed as "Permanently Closed"

"Sir what should we do?"
"Just recycle the same assets like we always do. Time for our 800th game in Kamurocho!!!"
"But sir, we are a new studio, we don't have any existing assets to recycle"

Maybe Sega will take him back, not like Yakuza has been doing great without him.

I still find it funny he left his job making Yakuza games to start a new studio so he can make Yakuza games.

He didn't "left his job", he was kicked in the ass and fired by Sega because he used the company money with no permission to go to dinner (and after-dinner) with other other companies' big shots without telling anyone what the hell he was doing.

He got all the way to the top of Sega's gaming division (he's the reason Sega only made Yakuzas for years) and thought he could get away with anything. And now he has nothing

I wonder if he joined forces with Yu Suzuki at Ys Net, would the outcome be the best Shenmue or the absolute worst Shenmue?

Because new, turn based Yakuza games are utter shit.

This game looked very promising and I was really looking forward to see what might come out of it.

Every time I see new related to this company I briefly panic and think stranger than heaven has been cancelled…then I remember and relax.

He also got into trouble after offending an puyo puyo player.

They are still making mostly yakuzas, difference that even yakuzas become garbage

Bad news. Later Yakuza games are imo not near as good as the older ones, and with Judgment nowhere to be seen I was hoping for this dude to deliver a tonally serious Yakuza-like game.

Not even the worse thing he did

Yeah it's really good and so was Like A Dragon. Those games are excellent and the combat is really top notch for turn based. All the Yakuza games are still very fun. Pirate in Hawaii was a blast.
Now people decided to hate on it, it's just the internet being internet. Also, Nagoshi himself was the one that decided to make the seventh game be turn based so the ones complaining about it are just a bunch of retards.

Infinite Wealth has an way better battle system with character positioning even. Can't wait for what they'll do with the next one. When an creator get out of a company people decided that everything turned to shit just because. They don't want to look at the games, they just decide that it's bad now and that's it.

No thanks

Yakuza 7/8 were great and Stranger Than Heaven looks awesome

Nagoshi need more Sega than Sega needs Nagoshi
7 was excellent. And I *loved* 8's gameplay. But the story sucked. Yakuza pirates wasn't anything to write home about either. Nagoshi brought a lot to the table. He could very easily be in charge of one of the spin off series.

Yeah, I wasn't a fan of Infinite Wealth or Pirate Yakuza. Both were mid but for different reasons.

I wasn't also looking forward to Nagoshi's game :(.
