14 games, for PS2 (although I've heard GC and Xbox too). Looks weaksauce compared to Taito's collection. :)

- Pac-Man (1980)
- Ms. Pac-Man (1981)
- Galaga (1981)
- Galaxian (1979)
- Dig Dug (1982)
- Pole Position (1982)
- Pole Position II (1983)
- Rolling Thunder (1987)
- Rally X (1980)
- Bosconian (1981)
- Dragon Spirit (1987)
- Sky Kid (1985)
- Xevious (1982)
- Mappy (1983)

Wait, weren't several of those the announced additions to the US version of Namco Museum for the PSP? Maybe they're just updating the US version to match the next gen titles, but hopefully someone didn't get their wires crossed and report PS2 news as PSP-related earlier. :/

That's what I thought but no that's not the case. The PSP Namco Museum will have Tower of Duraga, Dragon Buster and other stuff not in this one. While this has games not in the PSP one.

Ah, it must've been a few of the similar titles that confused me. All well, a few good titles on that list, but the US PSP version has most of the ones that interest me (not to mention the updated modes, unless this collection will have that too), so I'll still be going for that one first.

All of these came out on the Namco Museum PS1 series, so I guess it's only interesting if this is coming out outside of Japan. Still, it's a nice package if you don't have the PS1 release, I guess.

Yeah. I think 50 games is really not that unreasonable.
Agreed. This collection is rather crap... I wouldn't mind seeing something after 1990 either. Taito, Midway and Capcom are all managing that, what's Namco's problem?

argument over, Namco collection wins

You know, Sega could make a killing if they did what Taito are doing.
Hence, they won't do it :(

Would be really nice to see Namco step up to the plate, though.
They have so much arcade stuff that hasn't even seen home release before.

That series came out in America too, so no, this is pretty much boring and dumb no matter what region you're in... :/

It better be $20 at most. It's not even that good of a selection...

I was hoping it'd be that Compilation with Klonoa and Ridge Racer that's coming out in Japan :(

Kulock: What's happening with MoogleMB damnit >:(

- Rolling Thunder (1987)

*fap* *fap* *fap* *fap* *fap* *fap* *fap*

I'd love to see this game get a graphical touch up... no changes to gameplay, just a graphical touch up.. no check that.. a 'well-done' <looks at Sega> graphical touch up.

Victory!

FnordChan, also psyched for Xevious

Rolling Thunder & Dragon Spirit :)

hope they redo Pac-Man, Ms. Pac-Man to be pixel perfect, hate those scaled versions they keep recycling

Rolling Thunder is in Namco Museum Encore, but it runs about half speed on PS2 systems, I hear, so there's one reason why this pack isn't completely redundant. Get ready for interlacing and blur, though.

ALSO THE XBOX VERSION HAS LIVE SUPPORT WHILE IT LOOKS LIKE THE PS2 DOESN'T!!! (have online support, not live :~ )

So, maybe Namco will have something even beeter in store with live support come this fall for the 360!

Xevios is in this? Thank you, Namco, for putting out the junk that was Star Fox Assault; let me remind people how they only included Xevious in the game, and now, they're putting it in here as well.

No thanks, Namco.

No one should be getting too excited since I assume barely any of these will actually be the arcade versions, and instead those weird 'remade' versions they pass off as the arcade version (Right down to a fake booting screen).

Man. Very disappointing. All of those games are on previous collections except for RT and Sky Kid. Maybe Mappy, too, I forget. They should follow Atari's lead who put 85 arcade and console games on their last collection. This bites, plain and simple.

14 whole games that can fit and run on the GBA to commemorate your 50th anniversay? Wow Namco. You really know how to do it WRONG! Greedy fuckers!

Where do you see Gameboy Advance? The original post claims PS2 and maybe Xbox and GC. Yeah, on the GBA this is cool as hell. On the consoles, pfffffft!

EDIT: Oops, never mind. I thought you were being sarcastic. :)

i'm guessing they'd have to fix Rolling thunder from the PS1 version, which runs at 3 fps on the PS2 :(

thank god for mame...

50th anniversary and they put only 14 games, what BS. Again thank god for mame, I wouldn't have to put up with such a poor effort :P

That is the image always stuck in my head when I think Rolling Thunder. That and those bad ass guys with the snowtrooper masks on, looking like Klan members hopped up on crank.

The inclusion of Rolling Thunder in this package makes it really tempting. Also Xevious, since the one in Namco Museum Volume 2 for the PS1 seems to have some sound glitches when played on a PS2.

I'm praying they emulate the games this time around.

Boo to putting Rolling Thunder on the PS2 version and not the PSP version.

You know, I was wondering about that...but I think it's possible that Namco didn't announce all of the PSP games yet. I thought I read there were supposed to be 10 games that weren't in the Japanese version, but the articles have only mentioned 8 by name. There's a chance Rolling Thunder could be one of the unnamed games. Then again, Rolling Thunder was a rather well-known game, so I don't know what the chances are that they wouldn't have named it already.

Namco is so fucking stingy with their compliations. Fuck em.
At least they are putting out compilations, where as some other companies are not. And no, Nintendo, the Zelda collection disc doesnt count as it was a pack in only and incomplete.

There's great news for those of us who were hoping Rolling Thunder would be included on Namco Museum Battle Collection for PSP! GameSpot did a new preview, and also posted a new video interview with the product marketing manager for this game. They now mention Rolling Thunder as one of the included titles! :)

GOd damn it Namco!

Stop beating around the bush and just release genre collections!

I want Phelios!

Namco has too much awesome arcade history, pre-shit Sega clonage - that I want to have at my disposal legally.

Can't bring out Tales games, butcher the shit out of everything else you release that isn't Tekken, and now you can't even fill up a DVD with games no one has played in 20 years? Eat shit, Namco. *fires up Mame*

It sounds like a horrible rip-off, regardless of the 'classic' content. Most of these were released in 1996 for PS. (Namco Museum Vol 1&2)

50th anniversary? I want to see something new, something like Marvel Land, for example.

I hope retro collections die out completely next generation in favor of an iTunes style distribution model for these kinds of games (as well as for new, simple games like Alien Hominid). Nintendo and Sony should allow some kind of connectivity between their portables and consoles as well, so you can download Pac Man for a few dollars on to your PS3, and play it on your PSP on the go as well at no additional cost.
