noit impressed from this angle. someone post the nba live stadium shot in comparision ;)

Not so great in my opinion. I don't know why I bother with these screens. I don't plan on picking up an Xbox 360 for at least a year after it's out. Next generation I'm going to have to be a tightwad with my secondary and tertiary systems (used consoles, games, accessories, and price drops).

OK!

That might as well be a current gen shot. What's the difference? who the hell plays the game from that angle? It's stupid to release a screen from that angle, it shows nothing that could make a difference between this gen and the next.

Well, all I can tell form these shots is that the LCD advertising banners actually say something in the 2K shot, and they're green rectangles in the Live shot.

3D. Mostly extras from Dire Straights 'money for nothing' video. Good to see they finally got some work.

:lol

That was hilarious...thanks for getting everybody in the office looking at me for laughing at my "proposal to Spring2 Enterprises."

crowd looks good to me, like a real basketball game crowd. Now the people just need to get up and move around to buy hotdogs and stuff.

I hate crowd sports shots. You don't even come close to such a view in a sports game. Make the crowd 2D in the upper deck for all you want. Just make everyone up close you can see sweet, sweet detailed 3D.

Well I'm glad there are finally 3D crowds, but they still look pretty craptacular. I really hope the PS3 can handle some better crowd models, but it's also up to the developer to not slack off on that front. Movies have been doing large 3D computer animated groups of people for years now so it's certainly feasible to make realistic crowds.

Thank you for the pointless post!

This doesn't look too bad though. Looks a lot better than NBA Live.
Actually, I did have a comment about the pic but his pointless rambling on about his life story distracted me so I never bothered to post it. He did leave out the part about whether of not his mother loved him though.

Back on topic, and to summarize what I was going to post. The lighting looks better in the 2k pic, but that's about it. Live from this pic looks better overall (though it looks too clean), even though it seems they're about to cue a halftime show.

As for you, "OK!"

This shot is old as shit,it was in the 360 EGM preview like 2 months ago...

It's ESPN NBA,who gives a shit? :D (besides Jobber)

Perhaps if you learned how to play 2K5 instead of thinking it's 2K2, you would enjoy it.

The only things I disliked about 2K5 is PG could shoot over way taller defenders and it goes in. The other thing is that Isomotion shit. When it works beating the man off the dribble, it great, but running into someone and you losing the dribble isn't gangsta.

How come the Live shot doesn't have any players on the court or even courtside? You'd think with 27 seconds left, someone would have stuck around to finish the game.

On topic, I'm not impressed with the 2K6 shot.

These shots looks incredible to me. I grew up in an era where static multicoloured dots (sometimes even blue) represented the crowd in sports games. We're truely spoilt for choice nowadays.

And for people scutinizing the game, are you sure your console preference isn't interfering with your good judgement?

Yeah, I'm sure our NBA2K5 league completely fell apart because we were all thinking about NBA2K2... :lol

Every leauge I've played on here fell apart

No offense, but the spelling in your post suggests you are growing up right now.

Lets see

NFL2K5? Failed

NHL2K5? Failed

College Hoop 2K5? Failed

NBA2K5? Failed

MLB2K5? Failed

Madden 2005? Success

MVP 2005? Still going.

Notice the pattern?

Ahem...

never had NHL

I was in the 2nd NFL2K leauge. Not sure what happened.

It was not 1 but 2 NBA2k tourneys then it was a leauge which I took over the 76ers in the playoffs and got screwed in the semi-finals.
Then it was a new leauge I was dominating then fell apart after I defeated the mighty fmt.

I got MLB too late for the leauge but I still play offline.

College Hoops was a clusterfuck. Teams were way too uneven.

I played in a Madden leauge which people gave up on and had to advance to the playoffs 5 games in.

Can't comment on MVP.

yes, you were playing in the 4th GAF season of madden in march!

if you are a football game, and you can't keep the interest of a league during the september-december months, you aren't a great football game.

the only thing that stopped the madden leagues were that first off it was spring already, and even *I* was tired of playing with an outdated roster and identical gameplay. secondly, most of us had played at least 50-100 ONLINE games, and i myself had played well over 150 online games. eventually it had to break.

nfl 2k5 could barely hold our interest for half a season. when players like bog, who confesses he knows next to nothing about football, can dominate a league and basically go undefeated with the miami dolphins, something is very wrong. when jewish vampire racks up 350 yards on 8 completions, something is wrong. and when kyle boller is a deadly threat to run on any given down, there is something wrong. im not blindly hating on nfl 2k5, these are legitimate problems

the nets are both there. the one in the background is visible but for some reason the one in the foreground is transparent. if you look close enough you can see its ghosting.
