I was at a record store tonite and they were giving these things away. Not the entire OST, but 2 minute samples of like 15 songs on it. This is such a sweet soundtrack... probably the best soundtrack i've ever heard with a sports game, and that's saying something.

Supposedly when you get the game itself, you get the soundtrack as well for free. such an awesome deal, although you xbots out there I'm sure will wait to purchase til november.

Big fan of the roots and common, either don't know or don't care for the others. With that said, I haven't heard either the common or roots tracks in this game. I keep hearing the shitty generic tracks from years past.

Best NBA2K intro track by far is last year's. It got me hype. Next would be 2k2 DC version then 2k2 GC/XB/PS2, then 2k4.

This year's intro sucks. :\ Hopefully they change it for the 360 version.

Some people hail Little Brother as the return of the old style Tribe Called Quest type stuff. It's two rappers and a producer. The producer is top notch, but he hasn't done much well known stuff aside from Jay-Z's "The Threat", a couple tracks for Destiny's Child, and some stuff for Masta Ace, De La Soul, and some others... Their first alum, The Listening, is considered classic by damn near anyone that's heard it. I can hook you up with it if you want.

I kind of like this soundtrack. I already liked the Roots and a few others, but I thought it was a whole lot less generic and interesting than what we've seen in similar titles lately. Not saying I won't get tired of it, but it's just another part of the package they seemed to have done better with this year.

LOL! The 2k soundtrack is a bunch of throwaway tracks from underground 'legends' for the most part. It is usually like that. This one is no different. I turned off all the tracks and put my custom soundtrack on instead. Not saying that the people on the soundtrack don't have talent, it is just that those tracks are totally throwaway.

Rap threads are hilarious. Everyone busts out with, "This is real, that ain't". It's fucking music for god sakes. Seems alot of people get into saying what is real and isn't and forget to enjoy it. That is one thing I can agree with 50 and Q-tip about. Everyone is so busy trying to be a critic and 'keep it real' that they really don't enjoy anything.

I do have to agree that most of these game tracks could be considered throwaways. None of them come close to the normal material from these artists. That said, I'll take any Little Brother, Common, or The Roots that I can get my hands on.
