[NDS] Do you protect your screens ?

No, I don't. I'm just careful. I've noticed small scratches when holding the DS in certain angles, but it's not visible under normal lighting circumstances so I'm not worried. I don't think Feel the Magic is healthy for the touch screen though...especially not the last boss. :|

Nope. I've had mine since launch. Still no scratches, even after beating all the Wario Ware minigames inidividually. :)

i've got the Brando protectors and they're quite nice. They provide a nice subtle texture to the touchscreen that's a little closer to paper. If you search the forums, you'll find some slightly deeper impressions i wrote a few months back. There's also been a thread or two on DS screen protection. Also worth a look are the various pen styli/styluses available for PDAs that make touch screen dependant games much more comfortable than the default stylus. Price start at roughly $10 at any office supply or electronics store that sells PDAs.

Unforunately, i haven't bought a game for my DS in months, so i don't really need protection at the moment. i'm waiting until i can get Zoo Keeper DS for less than $20. :)

nope. After playing Wario Ware, my screen was still perfect. At some point though, the point of my stylus got a little jagged, and it left light scratches on my screen, so I switched to the stylus that came in the metroid demo. Other than that, no other scratches on the touch screen, and one deep scratch on the top screen that came out of nowhere.

I have more scratches on the silver paint than on the screens

I usually use a Q-tip instead of the stylus, except when I need pinpoint accuracy. Then I can be as hard on the screen as I want and not worry about scratches.

I've also started using q-tips after i saw a lot of small scratches on the screen.
Only Polarium isn't playable with a q-tip.

When I noticed a couple of slight(barely visible) scratches on my touch-screen, I immediately banned myself from playing DS games and only played GBA games on it until I got some protection. I bought the Nu Shield screen protectors, and they work well. I thought they were for both screens, but when I got them I saw that it's only for the bottom screen. So, I may be looking into buying another kind for my top screen.

I have had my DS since launch and I there isn't a single scratch on either screen. I don't use screen protectors at all because of the amazing durability of the screens. Granted, I do play more GBA games on it than anything else.

Yesterday, cleaning my screens, I was disgusted.

My screen's been completely raped. Scratches everywhere.

I suspect it happened when I got 999 on "Zoo" in Wario Ware: Touched!. Ugh.

But yeah, scratches EVERYWHERE. Some screens are DEFINITELY not durable. I was worried about this a lot, and it happened after all.

Now I don't give a damn what happens to my screens. I was so anal before, too.

Anyways, the scratches only show up under light. I only play in the dark anyways.

had it since launch still no scratches...though i noticed the ones at EB were pretty much destroyed but thats to be expected of mall customers...and my eight year old cousin has a ds and hers is perfectly fine, she uses it pretty much everyday for dun dun dun NINTENDOGS! :D

I've found that there are (at least) two different kinds of touch screens on the DS, some have a series of tiny dots that are easily visible under the right light (like the ones on my friends DS here) and they are much more easily scratched it seems. Then there are screens without these dots (like mine, it can be seen here) and as you can see, not a single scratch on it so far. And I've played pretty violently on it since the japanese release might I add.

Neither me or my friend use screen protectors, but he has been talking about getting one, since his is much more easily scratched than mine.

My addiction to WarioWare:Touched! is definately ruining my screen. All you do in that game is move the stylus all over the screen, either by dragging shit, rubbing shit, or any other combination of any verb and shit. Still, that game is fucking awesome.

What's that Zoo game you're talking about in Wario Ware?

I think it's in Mona's.

You stretch silhouettes out to form animals.

I felt brave one night, and did it all the way to 999. And yes, the counter won't go over 999. I've tried on several microgames now.

The majority of my scratches go the directions of that game's movements, too. :(

Wow. You're crazy man

I got the protectors from Pelican, even though I do think screens themselves are pretty damn tough. I couldn't play Wario Ware Touched without cringing at some of the things the game had you do, so that's why I bit the bullet and got some.

My top screen is fine but my bottom screen is a scratchy mess, and that is with the Hori screen protector. If I didn't have that plastic protector on my bottom screen I can imagine my screen being the same as those in the demo kiosks at Gamestop.

The only DS game I own is Harvest Moon, which requires a lot of back and forth rubbing on the bottom screen (rub the chickens, rub udders to milk cows, etc.).

I use MicroThin WriteRights for the Zire71. (I have a Zire71)
You have to be careful with some PDA screens because if they aren't designed for color screens, it'll have a weird reflection.

I'm gonna buy this protection too so my DS will stay in perfect condition :)

My screens only get scratched when other people use it. Good thing I have like 4 Hori protecters. I can tell who did it and what they were playing by the kinds of scratches on the screen.

scratches shaped in a grid of squares = zoo keeper / polarium
scratches up and down the center = latiku throwing game in mario64
scratches all over the place = warioware
circles all over the screen = yoshi

:lol Bastards.

My screens are fine... in any case if they ever got damaged I would just buy another NDS

I like my NDS like I like my sex "RAW" besides the NDS has no STDs

I want a black one :)
