Need a Gaming Headset

Title says it. I know nothing about them. The only ones I've ever used have been ones that came free with a 360 or Socom. I need something with a mic, that is comfortable(Preferrable with the big headphones), and isn't terribly expensive. By that, I mean that I'm not really looking to spend 100+ on it. I was thinking 30-40 dollars, but I don't mind going higher either to 60-70 if they are exceptionally good quality and will last a while. I rather spend a bit more for one that will last me the next two years.

I'm open to suggestions or links(Outside the typical google searches and Amazon reviews).

Edit: If it works on all 3 systems(PS3, PC, and 360). That is a great bonus, but if not. PC Foremost by far. I don't want to sacrifice quality for that universal headset.

I also want a new headset. Astro A40's to be specific.

No, you really don't.

For their money they aren't worth the cost at all. I sent mine back after 3 days for a full refund I was so disappointed in them.

me and my friends all have these

PC350s

Great built quality, mic and excellent sound quality. PC only. I also hear good things about going with HD 550s and a desktop mic. Seen them go as low as ~$120.

works with 360 if you get an Astro Mix-Amp

You might want to check out some of the Ear Force headsets. I know some of them work with both PC and 360.

I have this one. http://www.amazon.com/dp/B003UQSGWK/?tag=neogaf0e-20

You can flip the mic up and it looks like an antenna. :P
Dang, I thought I'd be the only person recommending the EarForce Z2 but you beat me to it.

I know some people are really sour on Turtle Beach, but I've had no problems with this headset. Comfortable, good sound, clear microphone. But looking at those amazon reviews I might have just been lucky, so ymmv.

To be fair, I actually had the A30's around April time last year. I spent ages researching them and reading up on them, but when I actually had them in my hands, I was sorely disappointed. The 5.1 is good and their comfortable and such, but the bass was much worse than I thought it was going from reviews.

If I recall correctly, I payed somewhere in the region of £170 for them, but when I put them on they only felt like they were worthy barely £100. I ended up buying a paid of Denon D2000's and using a bluetooth headset for my PS3 instead, the D2000's were around £190 and I feel that I've got much more value for money than with the Astro's.

A40s are more equivalent to watch you bought other wise as the A30s are more for portable use that can also be used at home and have the extra built in mic for portable use when you don't want to use the boom mic. At anyrate Astro's big thing aren't their headsets but the mixamp. It's that mixamp that is golden for gamers/movie watchers.
