Need help choosing a non-Halo Xbox game...

My brother who owns an Xbox is going to be visiting for Christmas and he's going to buy two games that I would like to play. We already decided that the first game will be Halo 2 and he's letting me choose the second game. So far all I've thought of is Burnout 3, Dead or Alive: Ultimate and......I don't know what else. Any suggestions?

BTW, it doesn't necessarily have to be a multiplayer game. Help me out GAF.

if you're not set on a multiplayer game, get ninja gaiden. it's still probably goty. even after this fall's bounty.

Knights of the Old Republic.

I'm not a fan of Star Wars games.

I completely forgot about Ninja Gaiden and SC:PT.

... You really don't need to be a fan of Star Wars games. It's an amazing game, man. Probably the best RPG of this generation. And it's not like a turn-based, tedious RPG.

I'll ask him what he thinks of it since we both consider rpg's to be the best games.

Littleberu, can you tell me exactly what Deathrow is? I've never heard of it.

Deathrow is niche and might take awhile to appreciate.

Haven;t seen Crimson Skies mentioned. Another great choice.

Thanks guys. Here's what I've decided to choose from so far:

Burnout 3
Dead or Alive: Ultimate
Deathrow
Knights of the Old Republic
Ninja Gaiden
Splinter Cell: Pandora Tomorrow
Project Gotham Racing 2
Outrun 2
Fight Night
Chronicles of Riddick
Otogi 1 or 2
Crimson Skies

Last question. Are any of the games mentioned in like the $20-$30 price range? It doesn't really matter, but if they are then he can get 2 games instead.

Deathrow is.

Thanks Littleberu and everyone else. I'll try to make a decision now.

Should pick up the GTA twin pack!

Two games for the price of one

We've played both already, although I do want to hear the Vice City stations again.

Those are at the top of my recommendations list. I might suggest Kingdom Under Fire or Full Spectrum Warrior, but those are both multiplayer only on xbox live. There's games like Chessmaster, Ultra Bust a Move or Guilty Gear that aren't bad and are only $20. Soul Calibur is only $20 normally. In fact, GameStop is just now selling a bundle pack with Metal Arms and Soul Calibur for $20. This is one of the very best deals on the XBox.

Madden NFL 2005
Ghost Recon 2
Need for Speed Underground 2
ESPN NBA 2K5
Colin McRae Rally 5
GTA Double Pack
Fable

Considering it is your brother and you'll want a game to play together then I'd go with Dead or Alive Ultimate. Fighting games can't be topped for playing family.

If you want to know what are the two best games on your list then it's really easy. Knights of the Old Republic and Ninja Gaiden would take that title. Crimson Skies is a good mix of multiplayer and single player that might also be worth considering.

you could probably get ninja gaiden and kotor for ~$50. at least there have been recent deals that brought ninja gaiden to the $30 range. do a gaf search.

As I mentioned Deathrow might take awhile to appreciate. I bought it , tried it and shelved it for a year. Busted it out one day and and found out why this game has a huge underground buzz. The two of you could even play split screen and be part of any of the four player teams. Kickin the crap out of the other team and talkin smack (your players talk smack) is way cool, though make sure the youngens aren't in room. Best usage of motherf*cker to date. The game can be gotten for dirt cheap so it's definitely worth a look.

Edit: Just so you know this is a sports game in which two teams battle for control of a disc which they use to score with. The term Deathrow actually is pronounced as Death Throw which is a move you make with the disk, sort of a like a tracer shot in hockey.

If it's a game that you aren't going to spend a whole lot of time with, I'd go with Burnout 3. It's very easy to pick up and play, and there are enough things to do that it (along with Halo 2) should keep you entertained over the holidays.

All of these games can be found for $20 (or less if you can find them on sale/clearance)

I'd recommend the Chronicles of Riddick if you don't mind getting another FPS. I had more fun with Riddick than Halo 2's singleplayer. Halo 2 is overall better just because of multiplayer and live. Riddick has no multiplayer mode.

Ninja Gaiden is a good choice if you don't suck at games. Although I did find a lot of the game to get boring and repetitive. I think it's the longest action game I have played.

Splinter Cell Pandora Tomorrow - I thought it felt like an expansion pack to the first game, but it's still great. (Chaos Theory is supposed make a lot of chnages though)

Burnout 3 is excellent, the most fun i've had with a racing game this generation.

You also can't go wrong with the $20 2k5 sports titles.

I have SC2 for GC. If Metal Arms is really $20, I might end up getting that with my own money. Always wanted to play that game.

Thanks for that list Furious and thanks everyone else. I'm off to school. I'll check Gamestop's prices on my way home.

IAWTP.

Also, I've never been a fan of Star Wars nor cared about the movies (I've seen none of the movies), but I bought Kotor due to the universal praise it received and it ended up being maybe the best game purchase I ever made (at the very least, the best RPG purchase).

KotOR... But you'll have to play it day and night so you can finish it on time since he's just visiting.

Also if Multi Player is an option you could try a game that allows split screen multiplayer. So like, Crimson Skies, MechAssault.... I'll let other people help me with the rest since I don't really go split screen very often.
