I have these 2 video cards but I think they're are both really low end(got them for free) but I'm not sure which one is better...

The Geforce FX is a 5600XT with 128mb DDR, I know that XT is the lowest end of the FX series.

The ATi Radeon 9550 is 256mb don't know if it's DDR or not, also I've never heard of a 9550.. but that's what my drivers and manual are telling me, this card just has a HUGE heatsink on it but no fan.

If someone can tell me which one is better and for the better ones if theres tweaks of any sort to make them run better I'd really appreciate it!

You are much better off finding a 9700 PRO for about 130. They are 10 to 18 percent slower then a 9800 PRO. But will own the crap out of everything from 5800 Ultra downward.

Better yet, wait for the X700 vanilla version which will be 149.99.

I'm not looking for an upgrade, I'm not the kind of person to go spending hundreds of dollars on parts that are just going to be obselete in a couple month/years time. I got these cards for free, I don't feel like spending any money on anything new.

Any GF FX below 5900 isn't worth having for 3D gaming, even on a budget and even with ATI not being an option.

If you have to keep one, I'd stick with the 9550 if it's anything like the 9500 Pro.

I think the 9500 Pro was about the same as a 9700 Pro, and the Nvidia FX line just sucks, so...
