Suggest me a good series or book. I'm open to almost any genre, but prefer scifi, fantasy, and adventures.

A small listing of books and series I have read:

RA Salvatore:

Drizzt and Demon Wars series

King:

The Stand and Needfulthings.

Not really into his work much.

Koontz:

Various books I can't remember the names. I think one was the Bad Place. Not really interested in reading more of his stuff unless it's something really special.

Barker:

Imajica

Interested in reading more but not sure what to pick up.

Gaiman:

Nevermore, and Stardust

Clavell:

Asian Saga series

Anne Rice:

Most of the vampire books and a few of the witchcraft books. However, her writing is lacking lately IMO, which is probably due to the fact she no longer uses an editor.

Geroge RR Martin's A Song Of Ice And Fire series are the best fantasy books I've read. They get outstanding reviews everywhere; definitely give them a try if you haven't already.

Currently reading Dan Simmons' Hyperion series. Kinda interesting so far (almost done with book 1.)

If you want to try some "hard scifi" a.k.a. "realistic" scifi check out the Mars trilogy by Kim Stanley Robinson. The first book, Red Mars, is being turned into a mini-series on the SciFi channel. It's a trilogy (Red Mars, Green Mars, Blue Mars) about the terraforming and colonization of Mars. It was followed by an anthology titled The Martians.

While not really related to your list of titles, I love Harry Turtledove's World War series. It's about what would happen if aliens attacked Earth at the height of the Second World War. Humanity has to join together to fight off the invaders, while they still despise each other.

I take it you've read Phillip K. Dick? If you haven't do.

You might also like Murakami's stuff, like "Sputnik Sweetheart".

Barker:

Imajica

I would suggest picking up Everville if you're interested in Barker's work. I really enjoyed it. In addition, there's a sequel to Imajica called "The Reconciliation". Check it out.

The Kite Runner, by Khaled Hosseini
Crossing to Safety, by Wallace Stegner
The Remains of the Day, by Kazuo Ishiguro
The Wind-Up Bird Chronicle, by Haruki Murakami
Everything is Illuminated, by Jonathan Safran Foer
Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close, by Jonathan Safran Foer
Infinite Jest, by David Foster Wallace

Dan Simmons horror can't lose.

Check out Carrion Comfort and Song of Kali for a couple of good swift kicks to the daddy bits. If you dislike Hollywood endings as much as I do, you'll appreciate these books.

Turtledove's "Great War" series is amazing, too. He's up to World War II, supposing the south won the Civil War and a second civil war in the 1880s, but lost World War I.

If you're in the mood for a good bit of comedy, I just started the first Flashman book and it's fucking great.
