I can't find the old thread. I've gotten four mobile redirect ads today alone. Yesterday maybe one or two. Next time it happens I'll grab the url.

I know this is technically not a NeoGAF problem, but ever since the site was redesigned, the GAF New Threads bot on Twitter stopped working. That was the primary reason I ended up here. If someone were to make a new one, that would be great.

So, any thoughts on limiting the politics to a single megathread or community? I feel like it would probably slow down off topic a bit but it would help keep all of that vitriol in one place.

Is it possible to turn off the "save draft" function in reply boxes?

Sometimes I close out a window cause I really don't feel like submitting all the stupid shit I wrote in a thread. Then when I load the thread back up, there it is again.

When I use my mobile and Chrome app on Android (Samsung S7) when I type in any text box the frame rate stutters and the screen cant keep up with keyprsses ITs only with GAF, not other sites or email app. This makes it almost impossible to write using mobile

Still getting constant hijack ads on mobile, brand new Note 8 so there's no adware or anything on it, literally straight out of the box to getting hijacked

Don't know if this qualifies as feedback, or a feature request.

Some political/news threads have inflammatory titles, which can effect the tone of the conversation within.
Maybe require us to keep thread titles bias free, to allow for a more even discussion, or have mods edit them after the fact?

We do regularly edit thread titles for neutrality, yeah. Keep in mind that a lot of times users post threads using the original headline in these instances; the internet is full of clickbait and inflammatory headlines at this point. If you have specific requests, though, feel free to post them in here and we'll have a look. Thanks.

Is there any possibility of a hide thread feature in this newer forum software? That could help with the above issues if people could just click an X by a thread to hide it when the title bothers them. I like such features elsewhere just for reducing clutter from threads that stay on the front page for a long time that don't interest me.

I wanted to clarify this. While getting banned in the week I got my Xbox One X was the softest ban ever (Abzu, Halo 5 and Ryse finished, Gears Ultimate and Blue Dragon ongoing!), it was the first undeserved ban I received. "Insinuating another user being a pedophile". That's not what I did. What I did was write the exact same thing that user wrote about some Internet celebrity (insinuating that person was a pedophile for no good reason) directed at the user himself, to show how ridiculous it is to throw out such accusations. I assume the ban might have been a case of 'sarcasm doesn't work over the Internet', but either way, I needed to clarify that.

What I'm truly upset about however is that my media-create was closed, infavor of another user's late duplicate thread. Media-create threads are worthless if they aren't created on Wednesday whenthe new numbers are released. I don't know why that other user can't take 5 minutes (if even) to make the thread of Wednesday. Either way, I won't make any Media-create threads anymore. Seems it's not valued to have these punctually on Wednesday. Oh well ...

That's almost the exact same reason that I was banned the first time. What EviLore told you then (probably what the mod who banned me told him) was true in some limited sense, that I was insinuating that another poster is a Nazi. I'd appended SS to the poster's name after he had ganged up on another user with absurd accusations and casually, with no hint of irony and without qualification called the Charlottesville protesters Nazis (not contending that some or even most weren't; of course it's possible, but they're not a monolith.) Similar to your post I was pointing out that anyone can throw labels around unsupported at people they know little about, without evidence or justification.

My intention should have been obvious to anyone who read that page or maybe page and a half of relevant posts, and I think there were less than 100 users logged in, so it's not like the thread was flying. People are banned here too often for too little, to my taste, and I've been banned 2 or 3 times, but I also think the moderation is generally really good--some of the mods seem excellent--and it's not my forum, so whatever.

It's just because you're a newer forum member. Once you've been here long enough and / or made enough posts, you'll be automatically upgraded. Took about a month or so for me. And I think you can already edit posts for up to five minutes or so, unless they changed that recently.

Every time you go to a new page on mobile, elements load and change the length of a page like 2 or 3 times before settling.

It is very annoying clicking links to threads, you will often not click the right one as the loading thing happens

This forum (and resetera too, which seems to be on the same software version) becomes quite often unresponsive using safari on iOS 11 and 12. links and buttons then are not clickable any more, and I have to reload the page several times before stuff becomes usable again.

Is that a known problem with this forum software or is the problem on my side? This is happening on an iPhone 7, an iPad Mini 2 and the newest 10“ iPad Pro for me. Phone is on iOS 12 Beta, both iPads are in the newest non Beta iOS 11 Release.

I'm a little confused with how the notification bell works. If I reply to a thread, I will sometimes get notifications via that bell if someone else replies to it, but it doesn't always seem to work. Is it a bit janky, or am I just not fully understanding how it's supposed to work?

You'll only get a notification from a thread if someone quotes your post. You can also get notifications for other things like someone liking your post or giving you a callout like this ILLtown ILLtown

I get notifications when people reply to threads I've posted in, even if they're not quoting me. EDIT - It seems that's because I automatically watch any thread I post in, and I have it set to get notifications when someone replies to a thread I'm watching, however it's hit and miss.

"Blah replied to the thread......"
"Blah quoted your post in the thread......"
"Blah liked your post in the thread......"
"Blah mentioned you in the thread......"

I've seen all of those so far.

So ResetEra has a fuckin amazing unofficial RSS feed (http://resetera.live) and I thought it would be great to have neogaf.live in similar form. I've read that the idea was pitched to EviLore EviLore in the time of OldGAF, but he wasn't interested, busy pretending to be cool (ResetEra.live author's words). But maybe now it's the right time to do sth like that?

Unfortunately my web coding skills are non-existent, in the other case I would do it myself. But hey, maybe we have some smartass here, who would do such a RSS feed in his free time?

Btw, I'm not getting any ads, even though I've have NeoGAF whitelisted. Is there something else I have that's interfering? Noticed it on my mobile phone as well.

I don't really see any problem with discussions around non-criminal pedophiles, although it's a sensitive topic and a kind of a sketchy issue, so KevinKeene who can be brash is probably not the one you want arguing. Unsure what he said or what he got banned for nor for how long, but what makes him really look bad is especially his reaction afterwards:

Running to voat to post is pretty pathetic, that is of course if it's really him. You never know on the internet. So I'm not saying it is him, but if it is, it's a pretty pathetic thing to do. If he returns he should own up to how weak and stupid that was, especially considering that it's neof*g.

Can we get some sort of extension to the ignore system that shows when an ignored poster has been quoted? Right now it doesn't even show a quote box, so it looks like people are just ranting into the ether without context rather than having a dialogue with someone.
