So I got my RMA from MAdcatz...shipping label should be here soon.

So in the meantime I downloaded a TE template to design a new cover for my stick when it gets back from the shop...

Any suggestions on what I should do?

I respect that. I think the market needs a Happ/iL stick. It's been too long.

:D

No one realizes the happ stick is a POS, the company that made the sticks back when Happ was good was iL euro. I know ed (AIAB) has had to replace countless Happ sticks because they were junk.

Same could be said about any Arcade parts manufacture. I change countless buttons and sticks, at Barcode NYC, Arcade Brodway, To Much is Not enough , Laser Park NYC and ESPN Zone. People do alot of dumb shit to Arcade machines. So obviously, this parts are going to break.

I wasn't talking about plain wear and tear, obviously a real arcade machine is gonna go through more abuse than someones personal arcade stick. The production quality of HAPP parts in general is terrible, iL euro was the company who manufactured the sticks years ago for HAPP, the sticks all Americans are familiar with. They (iL) still sell parts, and they're still as good as they were 5-10 years ago, while HAPP is outsourcing crap from china.

Word, I know the dealy on Happs.

It's sad.

Especially with the P360. That stick is straight up awful now.

----

Also anyone remember the old Marvel Comics/Masterpiece cards with litograph/holofoil cards?

That's the type of finish/material on the new top panel for the MVC stick :D

When I say we need a Happ stick I really mean to say we need one with an iL stick. I don't care if it performs as good a a Sanwa stick or not. It's about nostalgia and collecting. We've all got a stick we like to use all the time but I want that perfect, bad-ass iL Marvel vs Capcom stick. I was really hoping that Mark was going to post pictures of a slightly thicker TE case to accommodate the buttons and iL stick with sweet ass MvC2 artwork, blue, red and yellow concave buttons to match the Capcom and Marvel logos with plexi top. It was to be reminiscent of the old american arcade housings minus the montior and come in an awesome TE-like box with a viewing window....and it was to perform fellatio on me whenever I wanted as well. All this was what I was picturing in my head. You let me down Madcatz.

That sounds absolutely awesome!

Yeah, that was what got me excited when you mentioned that. Though I tend to associate the finish with the multiple-cover craze that swept through comic books in the early to mid nineties before the collapse...things like the Valiant books.

Of the three new sticks, I'm most excited for the femme stick...then Marvel...then the black TE. Gonna buy one each for PS3 and 360. Keep 'em coming.

Need a Wii stick!!!!

Markman, how is the feel of the texture of the MVC2 stick? Does it still feel the same as the surface of the T.E stick? Very cool that you used the holofoil for the artwork. I still have my X-men cards that used holofoil.

It doesn't it matter if that's the final artwork ya going with. Bengus or Bust.

Good to see Madcatz using the TE in a smart way. I dont like the SF girls one, but theres a crowd for that and I can respect that.

Definitely looking forward to an all Happ stick in the future. I lovelovelove the Japanese parts, but Happ's are what I grew up with, after all.

I have a Madcatz SE right now and can't figure out if I want to upgrade to a TE or the Hori Real Arcade Pro 3 SA when it comes out. What do you guys think? The SA is $119.99 and is full Sanwa like the TE.

It really comes down to which box you like better, whether you like start/back on the front, and whether you're going to be switching out the stick, which I believe (pick me up if I'm wrong) is soldered on the Hori.

Since It's already a Sanwa JLF I don't see myself changing the stick. Unless it breaks. I like the look of the Hori better. I like the white and minimalistic design. I think I'm going to get the Hori and buy a Seimitsu LS-32 for my Madcatz SE just because I've always wanted to try that one out.

So MarkMan,

Eight new sticks for fall...delivering on your promise.

I do have a question about the Marvel set. Is this one gamestop exclusive? Like, do I need to be brave and order from them rather than waiting for them to come to my beloved amazon?

I'm wondering the same thing.

The stick in the HRAP3/3 SA uses a 5-pin connector like the TE; no worries.

Now the HRAPEX on the other hand has its stick soldered.

Posted this in the Sept pickup thread as well...but:

lol at GameStop managers sneaking pics of the new sticks and posting them on SRK.

I didn't even want to pay for WiFi so my picture was for my eyes only.

Also, this was hilarious (at least to me):

me, in the Mad Catz room on Monday: When are we going to see the Marvel vs Capcom stick?
mad catz dude that is not MarkMan: There is no MvC product.

show floor tuesday night it's in the case. I find the guy.
me: You lied to me!
mad catz dude: they said they'd fire us if we talked about it!

XD he was sporting about it though.

damn wouldve loved to preorder a mvc2 stick with the amazon 50% off coupon but i cant complain about getting a regular TE for $2.49 :lol

Any word yet on when (the time) the femme fatale sticks go up for go sale online (Capcom and Gameshark stores) on Sept 4th?
Looks like me and you, we'll be up all night refreshing the hell out of the sites, lol.

I won't actually be available (as I'm at work now) to check the sites until a couple of hours from now, as it blocks "gaming" stuff here....When I get home though, I'll be checking...I'm guessing the Gameshark site will be the best bet as they actually acknowledge (or did this afternoon) the existence of the femme fatale stick...I didn't see any mention of it in the store section of the Capcom site...So I'm placing the majority of my focus on the Gameshark site..

My life of having to buy ghetto happ sticks will continue :(

Maybe I should just save myself the headache and learn how to use a Japanese stick.
You could mod those bad boys(Japanese sticks)And make them feel "American" son. I've been playing with Japanese sticks for a minute at ChinaTown fair NYC. And I always hated those loose bastards. Shit, it was heaven sent when CTF started getting those Tekken machines with the option to plug my PS2 pad.

Here's the link on how to make those loose bastards "American" BABY! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QytcbzZmXaI. You don't have to open the microswitches. Or order the spring. You could get the spring from RadioShack. Just cut the long part with a wire cutter. On the tip of the spring your going to see a little "Hook Bump" cut that off. From there your good to go. All this takes less then 2mins. I'll take pics this weekend so people could see what I mean.

Someone help this man out...

He's looking for a HSS-0130 Sega Saturn Virtua Stick Pro

Interesting, so the lines on a HRAP are modeled after the old Astro cabs, while the TEs are from the Viewlix cabs. Correct? Is the Astro table top face titled slightly as well like the HRAPs?

finally mine!!!!!!!!!

and it just needs a little loving to get it back in shape

pretty good for 30 bones:D

EDIT: Thanks! I just spent some time cleaning the wound, and playing MvC2 with it. Im kind of worried now. The wires are actually fine, the fraying was just the casing. However the square and x buttons arent very responsive at all, maybe responding to 1/5 button presses. The other buttons seem fine. And the joystick left/right movement feels sluggish as well.

Now im wondering if I have to replace the PCU :(

EDIT2: I called it a PCU :lol

Nice find! I need to get one of those just for Pacman C.E. on XBL and Lumines Supernova on PSN. I want to dual-mod it with a 2-way gate. I'm tired of switching gates for my sticks.

So where are people getting art in high enough resolutions to work with the template PSD for the TE sticks?

1920*1200 takes up maybe a 5th of the layout...
