NES Metroid - Hong Kong Version

Yeah, those Duck Hunt and SMB covers are PAL artwork too. In fact, I don't remember any game here having that blown-up pixel artwork the early US games have.
That shit is classic!! (sigh) I miss the good old days...

lol on the talk of alternating. When we were kids, my old friend always tried to convince me stupid stuff like there was a bonus stage or 10 extra lives if you jumped into a pit in super mario bros so it would be his turn. :lol

I am 99.9% sure that the PAL NES (the original model) had Mono A/V output ports - I can't check my NES as it is at my parents' house in Toowoomba, but I can most certainly recall having hooked it up through composite. RF was definitely the standard until the PlayStation, though I believe that the first batch of PlayStations came with RF cables - at least the first one I rented did. The SNES didn't have any A/V output ports but you could use the N64 composite cable on it.

My model 1601 Playstation came with A/V cables. IIRC, it was the last Playstation model to actually have RCA jacks on the console itself; later models removed the RCA jacks in favor of the multi-out port used today. It didn't come with an RF box, that would have cost extra.

yeah, I can also confirm the Aussie NES has A/V ports on the side, I bought my girlfriend one last year 2nd hand, it was a Mattel version NES though. Maybe the later, non mattel ones cut the AV ports out?
