Never underestimate the N-bot

http://www.1080up.org/

I don't know, but this thing is getting nutty. From a thread that has 400 pages at Nintendo.com forums to this. If anyone can get Nintendo to put HD support in the Rev it's these guys.

Good on them for being pro-active. If it doens't pan out alteast they tried.

If Nintendofans wanted world peace, they would achieve it through their relentlessly work with ze’ internet.. but getting Nintendo #1 again, they can not.

yep, looks like they're on a good start

anyone who donates is an idot

More power to them. Nintendo shouldn't be allowed to pass this option over. Good luck at getting people to donate though. lol

haha, so this finally made it here.
Yeah I'm one of the founding fools...er...founders.

Will we change Nintendo's mind? I dunno. Will we have a lot of fun bugging the hell out of them. Yes.

Enough voices brought Nintendo online and a realistic Zelda.

Is this time better spent than sitting on a private message board and bitching about HD?
Absolutely.

we actually just put the counter on. It should technically be much higher. :D

1-2 weeks and we'll go all out with some media whorage.

If anyone has some of their past e-mails to Nintendo that you'd like to see up on the site as examples, e-mail them to link you find there. We also need more rants "opinions" than just Matty Matt.

and donate a buck if you can spare it. we're gonna do tons of advertising eventually.

is there evidence anywhere of Nintendo listening to people from the internet?

I'll give you the middle finger, beggar.

One possibility is that Nintendo are just cheaping out... and just in case this is the reality of things I've filled in the webform myself...

But I'm not sure...

There could be an incredibly good reason for saying what they've said about HD. Their choice and methodology of display could be different and not lend itself well to HDTV.

Perrin wasn't exactly explicit in what it can and can't do.
I haven't read one fucking person asking if 480 progressive meets her definition of the term HD. That'd be a pretty amazing thing if it couldn't even do that and Gamecube could.

bumper stickers are being made. if u donate you'll definitely get one.

You know you want a 1080-up sticker on your car. :D

Or go into your local blockbuster and stick them on somewhere when the employees aren't working.

Good work guys, bring more public attention to the fact that the Rev can do one more thing less than the competition. :lol

j/k But shouldn't you know what the Rev actually is/does before doing this? This whole thing might be pointless.

From another HD thread...

shogmaster said:
You can still buy plenty of CRT "direct view" HDTVs at either 24", 30", or 34" in size (just helped my parents buy a 34" one), but most would display 720p (1280x720) and 1080i (1920x1080i) downsampled to 800x480 or 800x540. Maybe even 853x480/540 in some cases.

If what shogmaster says is true, then HD sets are little better than 480p sets, and the benefit won't be obvious (and Nintendo might have made the right choice)

True, but I suppose they are trying to be safe than sorry.

We're on the lookout for writers.

Are there any tech heads that would like to write a nice article on what HDTV is, the benefits, and forecasted HD penetration over the next couple of years? It would also have to be something the simple common man can understand.

I'm really not nuts about linking to someone else but that's all we have at the moment.

Good call. That's what I mean... my 42" plasma has a native resolution of 853x480 but supports resolutions upto 1280x1024. 480p games could and would still look incredible.

Why has nobody asked Nintendo?

Does Gah know of this? If anyone can tip scales, he can.

is that gahigiddy? (sp?)

yeah I'm aware of that site with the Amish kids he made. :lol
He was moving at a snails pace in making something, so we took it upon ourselves to make our own.

Whats weird about Nintendo is that lots of gamers want to love them again like they use to but they keep doing things that continually prevent them from winning back an ridiculous amount of adoration from gamers. If Nintendo adhered to their customers needs and desires then they would probably still be number 1. Sometimes a show of warm good faith to your fans is more important than the bottom line of a cold profit margin.

Its pointless Nintendo wont change their direction. They will get afew sales like they did with DS. I dont think we will ever see a conventional Nintendo console again.

Hey, call me an idiot then. I'm going to donate some writing to them, at least they are attempting to make their voice heard.

Add black color console to that list.

I'm writing to encourage Nintendo to keep HD support -out- of the Revolution. You should too, unless you LIKE paying for more than one console a generation. I sure as hell don't, and given how gutless the Rev will be, you should be CLAMORING for a 360 or PS3 Zelda title. What sort of gamers are you?

Nintendo's hardware business needs to die. The ONE CONSOLE FUTURE (tm me yes me you asspulps) - it's a dream worth fighting for.

Seriously I'm a gamer that likes games. Competition in hardware and software is good. And putting aside the spec sheet number fights for a second - is Nintendo making Rev cheaper to buy not good for competition?

This HD thing will be overblown, Rev will probably do 480p and have incredibly beautiful games, it will have a great online service and a great back catalogue of downloadables. This is of course assuming they deliver everything. You never know, they might and then some.

Rubbish. Competition in formats is not good. In the music and movie industry you dont have format wars, fanboys and arguments. Its all about content. Right now there is too much hardware brand focus in gaming and for gaming to grow a single format will work best. Software is where gaming is at. Hardware on its own is worthless.

Not choosing HD is Nintendo's loss and only their loss. Visually they clearly wont be on the level of the other two and they dont intend to. It will be some oddball format like DS is.

If you repeat this 10 more times while clicking your heels it may come true!

:lol did you join the dark side???i remember that you used to be on the good team........now you keep trolling the winning(DS) team.............what happened?

Nintendumbs (tm MAF, May He Rest In Peace) have such vastly versatile imaginations that they don't even need TVs. They spend most of their time posting what Nintendo *should* do with each franchise installment instead of actually playing the damn games, which really cuts down on the need for a screen or a usable controller. That's the brilliance of the DS, after all; they could have packaged it with a cucumber instead of a stylus, and each individual Nintendumb would still spend at least a few hundred hours concocting ludicrous extrapolations championing Nintendo's "innovation" in completely implausible and ill-considered game design scenarios. A touch screen, though, despite being a really cumbersome gimmick, has just enough potential application to keep their fevered imaginations alight for a good two to three years before they finally catch on. GENIUS.

Really, they should start selling GAF as the definitive Nintendo console peripheral.
