I seriously can't understand how people can think Black is just "Average/Generic/Boring/etc".
This is what Killzone should have been, it's Burnout + Red Faction + Insanity.
It uses GeoMod for Christ sake and looks incredible on my Wega.
I loved the demo, although it was way too short. Hiding behind the shell of a car and watching it rock back and forth after being blasted by rifle fire was just excellent. This is the most immersive FPS on a current gen console I've played yet. It actually felt NextGen, like when I played RE4 I got that NextGen tingly feeling in my crotch. Black gave me the same feeling, it's part scripted, part GeoMod, part unscripted, and all intense. A.I. seemed pretty good, not great, but not console retard either. I thought the controls were a bit too twitchy though, but I'm sure that will be fixed for release. It probably isn't going to matter which version you buy either. Probably will come down to which controller you like better and whether you prefer sparks or textures. I'd say graphics will be about even with better blur/spark effects on PS2 and better textures on Xbox. That's been the case since Burnout 3 anyway.
Regardless, the demo was a blast and I'm glad Criterion is making the game for PS2 and Xbox owners. It is a shame they didn't make a PC version for online play and possibly
better controls.
