I love Conker's face.

I have always, and will continue to hate, whatever they've done to his tail. That's just not jiving with me.

Yeah, you have to see it in motion to appreciate the fur shading. Same thing with Starfox Adventures Say what you will of SA, but it is still in the top 3 or so graphically on the GameCube, imo.

looks absolutely fantastic, but you have to feel bad for the conker team. i really doubt the game will sell that well considering the huge xbox360 blowout at E3..

Looks great, but Rare simply tried too hard on the fur. It should've be implemented as in DK:JB, but it's a minor gripe. The XBL mp aspect should be phenomenal one.

Are you suggesting that Microsoft copies the pitiful Nintendo?! :lol

I'm getting a Rayman 2 vibe. I realize it looks a lot better but it's still kind of similar to me. Regardless, it's very pretty.

As was already said don't judge the hair from screens.

Yeah, everyone judges DS by its screens, so, no, that argument doesn't work at gaf (no matter how smooth it looks in motion)

The game looks beautiful. I love what they've done with his face and his hands, but, as mentioned before, the tail looks awkward. Also, the demo played fairly well. It was the e3 2004 build so it's been tuned even further.

? What's DS?
I'm just using it as an example. At gaf, if the screens dont' look good, the game sucks. Doesn't matter how fluid it looks in motion, or if it has the best gameplay ever. No good stills = no sell.

You guys know what's great about the current generation of games? Even though we are about to move into the next geneartion of systems, the games in the current generation still look good.

This only makes me so much more excited about the next generation of systems. The games on those systems should be mind blowing! I can't wait!

Oh, and I do agree that this game bares resemblances to Rayman, but that's a good thing. This game is freakin beautiful.

or... they'll be only marginally better, leaving us all dissapointed.
Seriously though, some of those shots are what I expected a next gen platformer to look like.

Few companies make better looking games than Rare.

Now, gameplay is another story all together.
well, it's easy to make a better game than rare... all you have to do it get it on a shelf, since a game thats actually release is automatically better than nothing :lol :lol :lol

Too damn pretty, I think I have to buy it now. When's the current release date (as if it matters)?
Sometimes in june IIRC.
I have the preview code, and it looks as good as these screens there. The game is antialiased and uses an incredible lighting system. I have honestly never seen such a "perfect" lighting in a game before. The characters simply fit perfectly in the environment, they don't stand out like in other games because it seems they are affected by the light in the same way as the "static" level polys. With a better shadowing, it would have been almost as good as a CG movie. There, I said it ;)
The preview is quite polished and already has a smooth framerate with a few rare random slowdowns. I tried the multiplayer briefly, but it's really not the type of gaming I like (don't like shooters much).

These aren't poor graphics by any stretch, but I wouldn't think of them as next-gen - I'm expecting xbox360 games to have less angular features and no obvious cut-n-paste bits like the grass and carrots. Elements in these shots still aren't blending/meshing quite right. This still looks like the kind of platformer we've been getting since Dreamcast days (it reminds me of Rayman 2 as well), just with higher res texturing and some shadowing etc.

Don't get me wrong, this is great for the Xbox but I wouldn't say it's next-gen looking.

Edit: Posted before BlimBlim's comments on the running demo - guess the game is more impressive in motion. Again, not saying I'm NOT impressed, just not impressed to the level some people here are.

Conker was awesome,so your comment makes no sense Dayton ;)

My point was that graphical beauty is not something we doubt when it comes to Rare titles, but that gameplay is more hit and miss.

As far as Conker goes... I loved the game, but it was more for the story/humor than the gameplay itself. Once you beat the game, is there much of a reason to go back and play it again? Heck, there are several parts of Conker than drove me nuts as far as gameplay goes... stupid zombies.

But yes, this port should be at least as good as the four year old game it is replacing.

I care, because Gaime raises a very valid point.

Meh,imagine that a Nintenbot agrees with him ;)

Haha, seriously, this is about Conker,no one cares about DS screenshots and how they are talked about.
