SP2 should be out before too long and it should patch up alot of insecurities in XP. I tried out one of the newer release candidates of it. You'll have to do some tweaking to get legacy apps to work with it and, initially, it's kind of intrusive about letting you know if you don't have anti-virus software installed or have XP's integrated craptacular firewall enabled, but you can disable those notifications. Also, my 3DMark2003 score dropped after installing it, though not by much. I didn't see any performance gains from the SP, but if you're worked up over security, it's definitely the way to go. I imagine the little kinks will be worked out when it goes final.
