I feel sorry for all the games journalists who probably got emails from RockStar saying something a long the lines of "hold the date, we're releasing a new assets soon." The arrogance of those emails was unbelievable. Then came the follow up emails...

No, but in the lead up to GTA IV and Red Dead, we used to get regular emails from R* basically saying that they were going to be releasing new assets and that we should get ready for them.
nobody is forcing you to buy the game justin. focus on the games that you want and leave this game to those who are enjoying it.

I think they are doing a second pass of hype with new trailers, new website and new previews before lat august-september.
June and July are bad months.

Every single GTA:V thread without fail. If all they were releasing were bullshot CG trailers you'd have a point
But they always show what the game will looks like on our consoles. It may not be from the player perspective but It's all their up on the screen for you to see.
I used to be anti-GTA. It might even be related to my forum tag if it's still there. Then something happened. Red Dead Redemption. Thanks to my utmost favorite movie genre of all time, for the first time ever I was totally engrossed in a sandbox title. Played I all the way through non-stop and pretty sure I have over 75% of the single player trophies.
Since RDR I've gone back and started doing the GTA games. And who'd a known. I was actually wrong all of those years.
Anyway, I recognize most people's dislike for aspects of GTAIV. Here's to hoping Rockstar North took what they learned from RDR and at the same time bring back some of what was great about VC and SA.

what? they show some gameplay but from a different angle to create a cinematic trailer. you can actually tell the cut scenes from the gameplay.
They had those for RDR, LA Noire and Max Payne 3.
I don't think they want to do that kind of detailed advertising for GTA though.
I don't really care as i know how it will play more or less, and i always enjoy their more cinematic trailers, even after the games come out.
Like many R* complaints I see, I'll never get why they're singled out by some for that. I mean we don't see the HUD, but we know what the game will look like based on the trailers. Infinitely better than some random live action or CGI trailer.
And yet every site will be tripping over themselves to get these up for the clicks :lol

No doubt, the rush to get a full page advertisement in Game Informer last year when the had the GTA V cover was ridiculous. It's a funny/sad/awesome industry
i just watched the first trailer and it reminded me how good it was.

My favourite are the 40 minute IGN breakdowns.
I still remember them breaking down the first one saying "certainly this character is Tommy Vercetti since that's Ray Liotta's voice" :lol so odd how convinced they were that it was Vercetti.
If it IS going to next gen also, I sure as hell hope they announce it by E3.
Though I may just make this my first GTA title played through on the PC. Haven't decided yet on PS3.
