What does everyone think about this? I loved No Doubt back in the day and this tuesday Gwen is releasing her first solo album. I kept on hearing about how much the album sounds like j-pop album, so I'm listening to it through mtv.com. It does sound a lot like Utada's new album in parts, but with mad production. I'm kind of enjoying it, does that make me bad? =(

It's pretty cool, nothing really like No Doubt though, apart from maybe one or two songs at a stretch. She loves dem Harajuku Girls though, she mentions them a bunch throughout the album (as well as having a song called Harajuku Girls - which rawks) Highlights for me include "What are you waiting for?", "Cool", "Crash", "Dangerzone" and "Harajuku Girls"

There's some amazing stuff on it. "Bubble Pop Electric," "Crash," "The Real Thing," "What You Wating For?," and "Hollaback Girl" are excellent. The album has a definite early-Madonna vibe. Definitely my 'guilty pleasure' album of the year,

From what I've heard so far, this all has a very Kylie-esque sound to it which is definitely a good thing. Body Language and Fever = AWESOME.

As of the first 9 tracks, The Real Thing is the only title I'd say is really good. Cool is quite solid as well.. enjoying the sound of Serious thus far. Hollaback Girl is absolutely dreadful... How anyone could like it is beyond me.

I saw her on MTV and she had the 4 somber and expressionless looking japanese girls from the new video with her, then a few days later on another show there she is with those girls again.

They just seem to walk behind her and do nothing besides just stand there like mannequins, quite creepy.

They're called Harajuku Girls and have "wicked style" apparently. And she's their biggest fan.

I finished listening to it last night -- really liked Danger Zone and the titles I mentioned before, but for the most part I'm not a big fan of the album and it earns a pass from me. She's got a long way to go to be anywhere near Kylie (or Madonna for that matter if she goes that route), that's for sure.
