They would be in competition with the PSP but not the DS.
Yep. It would bomb horribly in Japan and it will be fighting with PSP for all those american handheld games PSP has. While DS is unaffected.

Given where technology is going MS are very late.

I'd say Nokia are probably going to be th eplace where the most growth occurs in the future. They have already more than proven themselves with their symbian phones.

Of course, an Apple would never crash!

actually, i got into a discussion on the works apple forum about using Reason.
The feed back i was getting was "don't do it on a PC, it'll crash all the time - get a mac"

the figure i was given was "one fatal crash every hour due to windows not being able to handle the software"

Of course, under a Mac "you can be recording and playing tunes and it'll never cras"

seriously, can mac zealots please jump off the nearest huge pile of iMacs?
here is the number of times Reason has crashed on me after 1 week... ZERO.

Worst. Fanboys. Ever.

And Sony can do it because nearly every bit of the PSP is their own technology manufactured in their own factories, except for the LCD. Microsoft doesn't have that benefit.

I realize this, but if you look at my post I was commenting about David Dayton's post who assumed a market could crash because two companies intended to sell hardware at a major loss. ;) Sony doesn't play that game very long. They may make you think they are losing money on their system, but like you say, since the make many of their own components cost goes down fast. I expect PLAYSTATION 3 to be the same way. Sony will take a loss for a couple months when they get manufacturing up and running but I bet they are making a profit on the system within 6 months, even if they price it at $349.

Comparing an Unix BSD (a real Unix and not the toy named Linux) with a desktop and technology that is years beyond of Windows and Linux desktops is just laughable and is only made by ignorants.

The design of Windoze and Linux (the two most popular OS in PC) are pieces of shit and compared to the real Unix Operating Systems they are jokes, you only need to ask a security adminstrator with experience what he thinks about Linux and Windows and he/she is going to make a great LOL.

Sorry, if I am agressive but I am tired of reading and hearing people that don´t have any idea about they are talking.

Jesus, I know they'll never do this, but I wish MS would stop marketing Xbox systems to Japan. Just stick with trying harder to get more Americans, Europeans, Australians, etc. to play. The Japanese don't WANT to buy American game systems like they don't WANT to buy American games.

Think of all the 360s we could have had in America at launch if they would have got their shit together. MS will NEVER win Japan. EVER. A handheld would be futile.
