New Kodaka game Shuten Order coming 9/5

Damn. That was a fast turnaround from 100 Line.

SHUTEN ORDER, the newly announcedmulti-genre adventure game from Danganronpa creator Kazutaka Kodaka, will launch for Switch via Nintendo eShopand PC via Steam on September 5, publishers Spike Chunsoft and DMM Games, and developer Too Kyo Gamesannounced. Pre-orders will open on May 22.

SHUTEN ORDER is a multi-genre adventure game created through a collaboration between DMM GAMES and Too Kyo Games, led by Kazutaka Kodaka (best known for the Danganronpa series). SHUTEN ORDER allows players to experience five different game systems within a single game, including stealth action horror and multi-perspective visual novel systems.

Publishing for the Steam version will be handled by Spike Chunsoft Co., Ltd. and the Nintendo Switch versions in North America and Europe will be handled by Spike Chunsoft, Inc.

Not a dig? Just weird that thay happened to have so much stuff in the oven.

They already worked together on Rain Code prior to this.

I think our perspectives on this can get warped by how long it takes for triple A games to get made nowadays. For modest titles this seems reasonable, and probably keeps the lights on at Too Kyo.

I rarely see AA studios pumping out as many games in a similar timeframe.
 
Spike Chunsoft publishing. So he went back to them then?
Not back to them in the sense that he's an employee at Spike Chunsoft again. TooKyo games typically shops their games around to different publishers and gets support dev work from different studios on a per game basis. It's kind of like what Sakaguchi did with Mistwalker after leaving Square, except in this case Kodaka and Uchikoshi are still on good terms with the studio they left and work with them at times.
