Great stuff. Only one month to go!!! :D

so basicly 16 old remade tracks and 16 new ones.

Yes, but we've known that for ages. And you're still getting the same number of new tracks as you would in a normal MK game.

So does this mean that half of the tracks are from old games? :/
32 tracks, 16 old, 16 new.

it's still great news imo, i love some of the tracks they're including, and this info was announced around e3 iirc.

The courses look really narrow and difficult to master in some screens.
The Mushroom Mountain course has serpentines with oncoming traffic (like Toads Turnpike on the N64) and there are some obstacles at Piazza Delfino (as well as a shortcut that can be seen on the lower screen).
On the Waluigi Flipper circuit are huge flipper globes.

why is the beach from 64 not being remade. why is moo moo farm being remade instead of the beach. why nintendo why. I still love you anyway.

there are 16 tracks remade, only 7 is listed in this thread so there is still hope :)

Other new courses we already knew:

Cheep Cheep Beach
Figure-eight Track
Luigi's Mansion
Yoshi Falls

Is having a Waluigi track first confirmation of more than the traditional 8 characters do we think?

There are no signs of other characters besides the N64-cast. But yeah, you are right. Maybe there is hope for more

But it looks like there is a lot of value in this game.

Not to sure what to think about cups with 8 courses instead of 4 courses...

This Mario Kart DS = Mario Kart Anthology
It seems Nintendo learnt their lesson to have everything right with this one.

My most anticipated game for the end of the year.

Are you sure it's not 8 cups with 4 courses? I don't mean to question you, you have the magazine, but it does seem strange.

Yes I am sure. They state that despite the last games this one will feature 4 cups with 8 courses each. Strange, I know.

One of those cups is called "Nitro Cup", by the way.

Alright guys, here ya go:

Courtesy of German N-Zone magazine. All people from Germany, Switzerland and Austria, go out and buy this ^^

Can't say I'm noticing these narrow paths you mentioned, but apart from that, looks great!

I like the elevation around a corner in the Toad skid screen.

- MARIO KART DS LAUNCHES 25TH NOVEMBER 2005 -

5th October 2005 – Mario Kart fans rejoice as the hugely popular racing game comes to the Nintendo DS on 25th November 2005. Mario Kart DS will drive players new and old to distraction as they race their way around a selection of tracks, including all-new extravaganzas and time-honoured classics from previous versions of the games. What's more Mario Kart DS will be the first Nintendo DS title to offer gamers online play allowing you to race anyone, anywhere, anytime for free.

Want to show off your skills? Then get excited as Mario Kart DS features both online and wireless multiplayer modes. By using the Wireless DS Single-Card Download Play feature, up to 8 players can link up with just one game card. Alternatively you can battle it out online with three other players either in the comfort of your own home using your existing Wi-Fi broadband; or in the High Street either at Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection Access Points in store or at Nintendo Wi-Fi connection enabled public Wi-Fi hotspots. Never before has it been so easy to pick up a games console and challenge friends from all over the world for free!

Nintendo's unique new Friend Roster enables players to play online with their friends, all you need to do is set up a Friend Code by swapping a number with your friend, they will then be added to your Friend Roster and you can select to play with them online anytime, anywhere. Alternatively you can play with someone of a similar skill level. This is done seamlessly via Nintendo's servers through the use of a skill mapping system to ensure the environment is open to users of all ages and skill levels.

The Nintendo DS's double screens are put to perfect use in Mario Kart DS, moving certain features, such as the map onto the bottom screen, clearing the top solely for the fast paced action. Mario Kart DS also allows players to see what weapons their opponents have, thanks to a small symbol next to their faces on the lower screen. For the first time ever you will know what item to hang onto and what tricks your opponents have up their sleeves.

Following in the Mario Kart tradition, players must pick up items along the track such as power-ups which they can use to boost their own powers, mushrooms for a speed boost, a star to become invulnerable or shells, bombs and bananas to attack their opponents. Players can use these items to knock their opponents off the track and out of their way. These power ups can dramatically change the outcome of a race, so mastering these can give you the vital edge over your opponents.

Mario Kart DS provides excitement and challenges to keep players, both young and old, entertained and in the driving seat. This highly addictive, fun and fast paced racing game launches on the Nintendo DS in the UK on 25th November 2005, at the estimated retail price of around ÂŁ30. Also launching on the same date is the Nintendo Wi-Fi USB Connector which will enable players who have Broadband at home to join in the Wi-Fi fun. The Nintendo Wi-Fi USB Connector will be priced at around ÂŁ30.

Further details on the Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection Access Points and Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection public WiFi hotspots will be announced soon.

I played Mario Kart Double Dash with 3 friends the other day, we had a fucking blast even though that game is flawed. So I can't wait for this :D

Mario Kart for the win!!!

I am glad they reintroduced the shells circling around your kart. That was one of my biggest gripes about Double Dash.

Except that they didn't; those are shots of the old courses from the old games, there are no three-shell barriers in the pics of MKDS.

link?

so it's delayed two weeks in Europe. US version for me then.

Seeing as how they stated this when they first showed screens of the game I don't see how anybody could be surprised.

Where are you guys importing from (store) and to (country)?

I used to import all the time, but now I can get DS games in the UK off Amazon cheaper or as cheap as importing (especially if I do their free delivery, though it takes a bit longer). A game would have to be a few months after a US release for me to bother anymore.

Mario Kart will support both systems, allowing for players to select, from a menu, to take part in races with friends, with users at your current level, with users throughout the nation and with users throughout the world. As the game will not support text messaging, Nintendo is not worried about players connecting to players outside of their friend list.

Looks like you'd have to pictochat before and after...lame.
