P.S. Remember, we're doing something that's never been done, so I have no idea how it will all go! Don't give up if it seems to go slow (like with any streaming, give the downloading a head start before you hit play), and don't forget there are two places where you can actually download it to your hard drive and three ways to stream it. You can get to all of them at the link above.

P.P.S. If you're not yet registered to vote, here's a good link: https://www.voteforchange.com/. There's less than two weeks for you to get registered, especially if you have moved since the last time you voted.

If sharing is allowed, it should pop up on torrent sites in no-time, right?

Even if it isn't allowed, it will show up eventually ...

Cool.

Nice reminder about getting registered to vote as well. I'd better get on it.

If even you, the great Dark Octave, is not registered to vote yet, then I'm sure you have friends. Make sure to remind them too, okay? ;-)

I hope this hits the torrent sites soon. Damn xenophobic lawyers...
There are torrent links on the site... They already put it on bittorent.

I wouldn't link to any torrent sites buddy.

It's legit as long as the movie maker wants the movie to be downloaded. Torrent sites aren't illegal by default, some stuff uploaded in them are.

That particular torrent may not distribute copy-righted material, but what about everything else on that site?

inb4 Moore sucks

I will watch for sure, loved his docus

Michael Moore is generally pretty good, but I'm not expecting much from this one. It seems like it's going to be a simple "Get out there and vote, kids!" kind of thing. Moore's other films are good because they expose some truth (as moore sees it), and try to start a dialog.

yes. I also love how they never get boring, he knows how to make a vibrant movie. I wouldn't talk about Truth and something, but it really does make you think about certain things, which is always good

Everything on rapidshare isn't legal but people link to it for legit downloads. What's the difference? People should stop demonizing torrents.

Very formulaic.

1) Montage
2) Music performance
3) Moore speaks for a bit
4) Montage
5) Music Performance
6) Moore speaks for a bit

...and so on.

For free, this movie is ok. It would've been boring to sit through at a theater, however.

I'm not demonizing torrents, just that site. AFAIK, mininova is a site that is predominantly used to distribute copy-righted material. Unlike rapidshare, it's possible to find a plethora of illegal content within just a few clicks with that link you provided.

No, this is where I ask why you're crying about someone linking a torrent of a movie that's being freely given away by its fucking author. Of all the things the have a problem with... really? Really? REALLY?

Look, we were just discussing what constitutes posting/directing to illegal material here. Why does that bother you so much?

Torrents are 100% legal so long as the material contained within the torrent is non-copyrighted or if the distributor of the movie is providing the movie for everyone's enjoyment. This falls in the latter.

How would I go about getting the MP4 version on a DVD to watch on my PS3? Or should I put the MP4 version on the PS3 hard drive?

Do you think anyone who would download for sites like mininova doesn't know where to find them? It's not classified information we're handing out here.

And that's EXACTLY what it was. The film wasn't informative it was just very entertaining (the part where he owns Republicans is the best) and funny (again with the republicans "explaining" the reasons why they hate Moore). The end of the movie was kind of depressing to me even though there's a message of hope.

Liked it but I wouldn't consider it one of Moore's best. Just the lack of his smart, witty, sarcastic and hilarious commentary that we see throughout most of his movies was enough to make it worse than other Moore documentaries.

Btw people should really youtube the hilarious parts where he owns republicans. It's funny as hell.

just finished it. not too bad at all. His attacks on the media in general and their duty to truthfully report events were pretty good.

Try MP4CAM2AVI (http://sourceforge.net/projects/mp4cam2avi/), the process is relatively quick and the resulting file should be playable through streaming/copying on the Playstation 3. If the file still doesn't then download Virtual Dub > Open the video file > Go to Compression and then select DivX or Xvid from the list of codecs > Press OK > Go to File > and finally Save as Avi. The video should work after the first method but if for some reason it doesn't, the second method will definitely result into a file that is playable on your Playstation 3.

The same goes for this other site I'm always getting linked to, http://www.google.com. A total wasteland of illegal material just waiting to be found.

I really miss his old comedies, his new ones just don't have the same humor.

I just finished Slacker Uprising. It's not much like his earlier work, although there is more comedy than the humorless Fahrenheit 9/11, nor like his most recent films. This is a plain tour documentary, that drudges up old feelings of those panicked times leading up to the 2004 election, points out that the youth are yet again the sleeping (comatose?) giant in U.S. politics, and calls it a day.

My major complaint with Moore is that he ends up over-using voiceover narration. Compared to more "serious" documentary filmmakers, he makes himself a little too present in his films. The entire first half of Uprising had me wishing he would have laid down a track or two, worked with more graphic design and a strong script.

This is a utilitarian edit of an outdated political season. We need to look forward. Nobody has forgotten what went wrong with the Bush administration. The Obama and, to a lesser extent, McCain campaigns will not let us forget any of it. If Moore wanted to incite a real slacker uprising, his old technique of finding interesting people and trying to personally understand them would have been far superior.
