Looks like his Japanese name is Xandra, from Xandra no daibouken, but I think the game was released in Europe as Whirlo. I love how his pitchfork is now a trident. He's from an awesome snes/sfc platformer that has some connection to Namco's Valkyrie.

I'm pretty sure he was first called Taizou when he popped up in Mr Driller G (and its sequels) as Mr Driller's dad. And yeah, this game looks fucking insane, hilarious and awesome. I really can't wait.

Does anybody have ANY details on this game. Like what type of game is this? Great 2D art, but how exactly do you play this game. Is it RPG? Fighting? Adventure? Combo of things? Everybody I know is excited, but I guess I must've missed out on what all the hoopla is about. I like the art and the anime cinema shots look good but what's the scoop on this?

holy hell that version of taizou is awesome. susumu in the same style, pls.! and the only thing better than a drawing of arthur and klonoa is a drawing of arthur and klonoa looking terrifically ugly. i want this game.

It's on PS2, obviously. Seriously guys, since when does a SP or DS game have even 320*240 resolution (and even higher interface resolution), animated intros, big screen-covering artwork of (presumably) 200 characters, and decent sprite animation for said 200 characters?

2D graphics =/= on DS or GBA
