The original PC game was like Serious Sam eh? That's what I hear and that alone has gotten me interested in it so far. Then again, I think the whole purgatory thing is cool too.

I liked this game more than Serious Sam. It's a total run and gun fragfest, but the bosses are ridiculously humongous, and the physics are fun to mess with. Most of the levels had a quirky theme and a unique challenge to pursue which unlocked tarot cards you can equip between levels for boosted abilities or added powers. I found it eerily additive, and it was a nice surprise during the summer lull last year.

Looks pretty good. I absolutely loved Painkiller on PC, and if it means anything I love Serious Sam too. Does the Xbox version cover the original and the expansion pack?

Painkiller = Serious Sam with no Coop. Fun game though.
