Looks like they're importing the red from the U.S (at least it's not the red stripe of shame). I think it's worse, but I don't live in Europe so it doesn't really matter to me.

Well they could have made it discreet, but that would be defeating the point. The platinum, players choice, classics etc .. are a new lease of life for old games.. they need to have a strong and "loud" identity to them.

Edit: I like the new boxes better than the old ones, only because they don't have the picture of the old box (with the black PS2 strip ) on it.

My next-gen wish,is they git rid of the atrocious looking greatest hits box arts,and put the sticker or whatever the fuck they want to put to make them stand out as greatest hits,ON THE WRAPPER.

If they feel the need to differentiate the Platinum releases so much, why can't they just change the black strips to silver, with 'Platinum' underneath 'PlayStation'? It would keep the artwork, there would be no wasted space around the edges, and it would be obvious to anyone that it is the Platinum version.

The artwork could even be altered for Platinum releases; but, christ, the wasted space and ugly design of budget releases (for all systems, and for the last few generations) is simply atrocious.

I hate those platinum/Player's Choice covers, they reduce the original cover by almost 50%! Why can't they just add a small label somewhere?

NoA's Player's Choice covers are a lot better...
