On the upper side of the unit are switches for volume, screen contrast and also the cartridge slot, the cartridge goes about halfway into the unit, looks great. On the back, as said earlier is the battery container, which requires 3 x AA batteries. I have a feeling though that this unit sucks batteries dry in no time, during my tests I've worn out 2 sets of batteries with about 30 minutes of playing and then leaving it powered off, with the batteries inserted, only to find out a couple of hours later, when powering it up again, that the batteries were dead. Does this thing use the batteries a little even when it's powered off? hrmm....
