You gotta wonder why MS is doing this. I mean, I'm a graphics whore and love MS AND Sony, but come on! NO WAY are anyone's next-gen games gonna look like that in game! Giving the "subtle" impression that these are or could be in-game shots, it seems like they're setting up to disappoint the hardcore crowd who are following this stuff when PGR3 gameplay shots are really unveiled.

Yep. There's a problem with this render as well if you look at the area above the left wheel. It hasn't been rounded correctly.

I can understand when people look at stuff like this and go ape shit "OMG real" etc, but here's a sobering reminder of how far there is to go.

I think next-gen consoles could pull off that F1 car (obviously only a Sony console though). But not that first pic.

Its not down to detail, its more down to the look. Top pic just looks more rendered, whereas that F1 car could almost be a GT4 photo mode model.

well, visuals aside, I do hope next gen will have a longer play/life cycle than current gen consoles (with the exception of PS2). I'd rather buy games than console so about 5 years next gen will be GREAT.

Haha, sorry man. Looks like that morning coffee hasn't done it's work in my brain yet. I think the red one is original, and yellow and blue ones are color corrections. Just look how crappy the shadow looks on them, it's all weirdly tinted, especially on the blue one.

Are some of your guys being intentionally stubborn? The next gen will be a huge step up from this gen. Personally, I expect racing games to look the shit. GT4 is currently a work of art, and it's running on hardware a fraction of the XB360 and PS3. I think it's time to stop doubting. I don't thik MS would release a bunch of different renders as teasers. What do they stand to gain by doing this? Image quality may be reduced, but the models, textures and lighting should be that good IMO. PEACE.
