Well beyond just being a re-release it has new featuers:

--new story area
--new super level boss
--sound test
--control options
--New game+ feature added

and it's only 3000yen. Smart move on Nippon-ichi since a lot of gamers jumped on the bandwagon with Disgaea and never picked up Pucelle.

With numbers like that, I don't think we'll be seeing a new F-Zero game anytime soon.

At the very least, F-Zero and the GBA do not mix at this point in time.

This, and GP Legend's US sales pretty much guarantee Climax never comes here.

GP Legend bombed in Japan, too, so to me, it was VERY VERY VERY surprsing to see Climax announced last summer.
