It's entirely 3D.Miburou said:I don't think they're 3D. All the screenshots shown so far are from the exact same camera positions and angles as the static PS1 screens.

http://ds.ign.com/articles/653/653733p1.htmlOf course, the most striking use of the stylus comes in the form of knife battles, where the game switches to first person and you use the stylus to slash away at oncoming zombies. While this might suggest that you can switch to first person mode whenever you like, in turn suggesting that pre-rendered backdrops have been done away with, it turns out that the knife battles start up automatically at fixed points -- like when you enter a room, for instance. Finish a knife battle, and you're back in the standard Resident Evil perspective.

That's just Anoop spewing forth speculation, IMO.Of course, the most striking use of the stylus comes in the form of knife battles, where the game switches to first person and you use the stylus to slash away at oncoming zombies. Defensor said:Resident Evil DS still has prerendered backgrounds. If it was fully 3D, than the knife battles would allow you to go into 1st person at any time.

I'll try and dig it up, but the wallpaper textures in the shot look good but you can't tell that it has texture filtering or not because these screens are in a scanned magazine. I can remember Need for Speed Underground DS looking ace from a scan in Nintendo Power.Miburou said:Do you have a link to where Capcom says that the game is fully 3D? Resi fans will be relieved to here that the DS interation isn't just a direct port of the decrepit PS1 title - Capcom has overhauled the entire game, redoing all in-game models, animations and backgrounds (which are now apparently in full 3D rather than pre-rendered), as well as adding significant elements to the original gameplay.
Defensor said:Someone refresh my memory, did the Hunters in Resident Evil 1 have a one hit kill move? In Resident Evil Oubreak File#2, the Hunters have that; Entering a room with 4-5 hunters = suicide :-(
Kiriku said:If it's mainly a remake graphically, I don't see the point. We already got a superb remake for GC...and Res Evil is the kind of game where good graphics are important to the overall experience. This is the kind of game people would expect for PSP. Enchanced port from Capcom! To be honest, that would probably have been a much better choice seeing as they're making it in full 3D...but we don't know the touch screen features yet, maybe they're adding some neat and worthwhile twist to the gameplay.
FallenOne666 said:The touch screen support is for new puzzles and knife fights. The amazing feature for this game is the wifi support (1-4 players). Whether that means it will be like Outbreak or simply just specific modes, we don't know.
