Only a handful of Scrubs episodes left until the end of the season. Sounds like this one will not be developing any major plotlines. With the Carla/Turk thing kind of cleared up I'm not sure exactly what storyline(s) they will push as the season winds down.

Scrubs - 4x23 - "My Faith in Humanity"
The arrival of an altruistic stranger restores J.D.'s faith in humanity and Elliot's faith in men.

I really didn't care for the previews I saw of this week's Office. I kind of prefer that the Michael character be more subtly racist rather than outright racist ("Hey black guy you have to play on our basketball team!"). Here's hoping for a Pam-alicious evening all the same...

Does anyone know how many episodes of The Office were ordered by NBC? TVTome only lists 6 episodes, which mean that we are nearly at the end of the show's run. If it gets renewed it'll still be a long ol' time until new episodes start airing.

The Office - 1x05 - "Basketball"
Michael is overly confident about his team's chances in a basketball game between the office staff and the warehouse workers.

I thought Scrubs was going on a short break too, but nope, it's new.

As for the storyline, nothing will probably develop with it tonight but here's the blurb for the finale:

IN SEASON FINALE, J.D. COMPLETES HIS RESIDENCY AND FINDS NEW DIGS--With their residency over, there are big changes at Sacred Heart. J.D. (Zach Braff) moves out to live on his own while Turk (Donald Faison) and Carla (Judy Reyes) consider a family change. Meanwhile, one of the residents receives a job offer from another hospital. Sarah Chalke, John C. McGinley and Ken Jenkins also star.

Doesn't JD have to find a new apartment to live in now? That could lead to some sort of plot development thought maybe not a big one like the Turk/Carla one. I've only started to watch this show on a more regular basis over the past several weeks. I'd tuned in to watch the show on random occasions in the past and it never clicked with me but now I see how great this show is. Too bad Amazing Race is on at the same time *sigh* Oh well Scrubs is consistently more entertaining for me than AR so I guess it turns out okay in the end (though The Office isn't really entertaining me as much as I hoped.... so I give up a relatively entertaining hour of AR for 1/2 hr of good/great comedy of Scrubs followed by a 1/2 of average/below average entertainment of The Office... meh).

I don't know why they did each season in this show as one year. I mean why not have JD do a fellowship now. Its kind of inane for Dr. Cox to rip on a fellow attending as opposed to ripping on a resident.

nbc.com says scrubs is all new 2nite. not a repeat

Solid episodes. The basketball game went on a bit too long, but it was alright still.

But next week is the season finale? Only six episodes? Was this the plan originally, or does this mean they're cancelling it(/not picking up any more episodes, effectively cancelling)?

Anyone see the British version of The Office?

Does the Jim/Pam thing ever go anywhere or is it forever awkward?
(Spoiler for people who don't want to know, of course)

Scrubs was as usual damn funny. Any episode that has The Todd is great...

The Office was ok. I still like it. I guess they stuck with the 6episode deal. I doubt it will be back next season. If it is, I can see it being 6-10 episodes again, or something smaller. The basketball game was great.

I say NBC should take all its shows that dont have ratings, and show them over the summer...

The Contender
American Dreams
Committed
The Office

Shows like that...

Yes. Yes. Yes.

It was a midseason replacement. That's how it works. Plenty of shows appear late in the season and just get a little test run of a few episodes. Seinfeld started with 6 episodes. Also, there was never a consideration about The Office getting more episodes immediately if ratings were good, especially considering Steve Carell has been at work on The 40-Year Old Virgin for the past few weeks.

Scrubs was great tonight.

The Todd: "Suction."
Nurse: "But the patient isn't here yet."
The Todd: "I know."

:lol :lol

The Tim/Dawn thing goes like this on The original Office

WARNING COMPLETE ENTIRE SPOILER FOR THAT PLOTLINE ON THE BRITISH OFFICE

They don't get together at the end of season 2, but Tim very dramatically tells her how he feels and kind of breaks from the show (as in takes the ear piece and mic off him so no one can hear). You can see them talking, then she hugs him and he hugs her back, they smile at each other, he walks out and sits down turns to the camera and says "she said NO by the way"

The two christmas specials revolve around Dawn coming back for a 2 year reunion with the old office crew. Let me know if you want that story line spoiled

EDIT: Also the british Office was 6 eps per season for 2 seasons. Maybe they are following the format in the sense that definate things happen at the end of each season and it wraps up a story line for the American one.

So far the American Office isn't too bad, but it really fails to connect with your pathos. I mean, with the British Office, I was literally pained to see the boss attempt to be the "cool boss" and be completely oblivious to how everyone around him is acting towards him. That's what I liked most about the British Office, the boss was an idiot but you really pulled for him.

CHRISTMAS SPOILER FOR BRITISH OFFICE
Which made the Christmas special all the better imo when he ends up with that girl who totally connects with him

Oh man, The Office was actually funnier than Scrubs this week. It's quickly becoming one of my favorite shows now.

*Steve Carrel throws a crumpled up piece of paper at Pam, hitting her in the forehead*

<Pam> Please don't throw garbage at my face.

<Steve> Oh, Pam with the zinger!

True. I haven't seen the UK version, but I only have contempt for Carell's character.

Still, it's very funny. In a dark way, almost to the point where it makes you depressed, but still fun to watch. The John chasing Pam thing is obviously very important. It's the only positive element of the show -- I don't think you can help but root for the guy.... then laugh when he fails. :lol
