New Sega Rally 2006 video

:D

there's a bit of pop-up but it still looks ridiculously hot!

i'm hoping for more sega rally saturn and less sega rally 2 dc.

and bundling arcade sega rally = :) :) :)

can't wait!

Wow the pop-ins are quite bad, but it looks like a lot of fun. I've always been a great fan of arcade rally games, so I hope SR2006 will take back the crown from Rallisport 2 :D

Is that an arcade game? It looks like complete crap. No modern race title should be released with that horrible popup.

i want SHOX 2 - SHOX is the greatest arcade rally game ever. top notch driving physiks and has not such moonjump shit like in RSC 1/2.

It would be interesting to compare the texture work from this version to the original Dreamcast Sega Rally.

Hmm, i've got this on order at Play-asia but I'm tempted to cancel it now. It looks pretty decent, but I haven't the money to waste on it if it turns out to be a stinker. But if I cancel I'll miss out on the first batch shipment which includes Sega Rally. Decisions, decisions....

60 fps would be one redeeming factor at least...any word on that?

Yah it's 60fps. The TGS 2005 build got really positive impressions

The tracks we raced on were all set during the daytime and in dry weather, but we did get to see some video of a nighttime race, and we were told by the game's producer that all 200 (that's right, 200) of the tracks in the game will not only support different times of day, but also numerous weather conditions, including heavy rain and snow.

Playing Sega Rally 2006 with a GT Force wheel, we found that the handling was very responsive, and the implementation of the force feedback was superb--especially when we landed after a jump or hit the gas pedal. The sense of speed was also quite impressive, regardless of which camera view we chose to play with.

So does Sega Rally have what it takes to compete despite arriving so late? Visually, the game does look solid, with detailed car models and tracks. But, then again, people don't tend to buy PS2 games for visuals anymore. Gameplay is what counts, and Sega Rally seems to excel in this area. The game controls well through the steering wheel, with so much feedback that you get the impression that you really are rally racing. Sega's also working lots of content into the game to make sure that players get their money's worth.

I was thinking the same thing. But i'm sure they can fix that.

The pop-up was like that in the TGS demo LAST YEAR. I don't think they'll fix it with only 2 or so weeks until the release.

Oh yeah, SHOX was awesome! Only thing I didn't like was the soundtrack, but I turned it off and played Sega Rally music instead. Perfect. :D
Sadly I doubt we'll see a sequel though. :(

Been so long since I've even looked for pop-up. That's one thing I have no complaints about this gen. Clearly an optimization 'to do list ' thing.
