Wow, just loaded up the new link for the dual Opterons servers and I noticed a speed improvement right away. Searches seem alot quicker, refreshes seem alot quicker. Maybe it's just the power of suggestion but I'm loving this!!!! :lol

OMFG I think I'm gonna explode!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! GAFFING ALL TURBO CHARGED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I've never had to setup or host a major website, so can someone explain something to me. Since the owners of the forum obviously can pick and choose their own server hardware is the server like sitting at their house? Or can they simply tell whatever company provides the connectivity what kind of hardware they want on the server? And is vbulletin like a licensed "forum engine" that people can buy a license for in order to setup their own forum?

I used to work at a webhosting company, and all of the hardware was purchased by the actual webhosting company itself. End users only get to pick and choose what kind of options they want. We used to bill the fuck out of customers for simple shit like RAM upgrades and stuff.

I'm not sure how the GAF works, but that was my experience.

And what you said about vbulletin is correct.

Yeah, you're pretty much leasing the whole deal. You're paying an annual fee to use the forum, get upgrades, etc. Then you're also typically leasing a machine in some underground bunker in colorado linked to the internet. You pay different rates for the abilities of the computer, the size of the connection and the bandwidth requirements.
