Your best bet is to check
http://www.superfurrylogic.com. It's run by the former webmaster of SFA's official site, and I'd say it pretty much has everything you'd ever want to know about the band in some format. Their official site isn't too great for some reason; I don't know why. I think it has something to do with the fact that a new site is made each time they release an album.
Some cool news, I guess, is that four of their albums are being re-released in the US coming up in March. Each album is apparently going to be a double disc, with the second disc containing b-sides. Typically, SFA"s b-sides are really strong. I remember when Rings Around the World was released in the US, a lot of people argued that the bonus disc was stronger than the actual album's material. I cycle on and off with what I listen to by them; mostly, it's been their rarer releases. If you're missing some of their stuff, though, waiting for the re-releases could be a good idea because as I said, the b-sides are usually very strong.
I think they're doing Outspaced (which was an album comprised completely of b-sides), Radiator, Mwng and Guerilla. I'm not positive, though.
Mwng is definitely the biggest departure from their "sound", whatever that is. It's very lo-fi, but at the same time emotional and complex musically. They recorded it on a tiny budget, and it turned out to be their biggest success in the UK. I think it became like the best-selling Welsh album of all time.
You're definitely in a period where it's a good time to be a fan of the band, though. Their new album is coming out in three or four months, the singer's got a solo album coming, their hard-to-find albums are being re-released, and they're supposedly going on tour around May or June. Their live show is
really awesome. They sound as great live as they do on album, and they bring a lot in the way of presentation.
Definitely check Super Furry Logic out. I can't recommend it enough. Follow the links, and you're bound to run into something interesting.
Since you like the Welsh stuff, you should check Gruff Rhys's solo out. If you like Mwng, it's pretty much a given you'll enjoy what he did.
In my opinion, anyone willing to look past the fact that the band is called Super Furry Animals is going to find a very incredible band. I've brought them up in different situations and have had people tell me the band is just gimmicky garbage. They must be listening to a different band, because they're honestly, to me, modern music's direct descendent of innovators like The Beatles, Pink Floyd, and The Beach Boys. Their sound captures so many great things about music yet puts a fresh spin on all of it. I've heard almost every song the band recorded and pretty much everything they put out sounds unique.
Speaking of The Beach Boys, here's a live cover of their song "The Warmth of the Sun":

I actually think it sounds better.
On their new album, different members of the band are going to contribute vocals. I think Gruff is doing six tracks, and then three others are going to have two tracks of their own. I'm really excited.
