New Sonic Rush (NDS) Trailer

The Music.... if someone tells me that Rush has Music by Hideki Naganuma (and i'll be damned if it doesn't Sound like Jet Set Radio).... I would have to buy it alone for him.

Looks fucking fantastic. It's like the Saturn Sonic we never got but always imagined. :)

I don't like the new chick though. I'd rather have Tails tagging along honestly.

I am the biggest sonic fanboy on these boards. That is a fact.

That said, I almost creamed myself upon seeing this trailer. It looks absolutely fantastic, and is exactly how I envisioned a 2D sonic game using 3D elements would be like.

Naganuma pumping out the tunes. It wasn't sounding very Sonic-y until the wacky workbench-esque level with the music playing that reminded me of Sonic CD. Win. And the level design looks superb, thats the best thing about this.

The sense of speed and level design were great. I also loved some of the graphical effects like the platform that moved out and around (hard to explain).

And I'm sure the music was different for that trailer. In the first trailer the level with all the grass and leaves and stuff had different music and also had Sonic shouting "Yeah!" a couple of times.

Everything looks good, but there doesn't seem to be as much enemies as in the other games.

That looks like the best Sonic in years! Nice.

Don't screw it up, Sega. And don't add anything lame with the DS Features, like blowing in the microphone. That shit is stupid.

Huh... there's like no chance of that happening.

The two screens will be the only feature used. And the stylus for mini-games, IIRC.

Please advertise this game, Sega.

I'm really surprised at the music. Some of the nicest tunes I've heard in a Sonic game since....Sonic & Knuckles.

I can't wait to play this, and not too long to go anyway. The game looks fucking brilliant, it's so good that they've gone back to the formula that worked; same with Team17 and Worms.
The 3D elements look damn good too.

I'm going to say right now this is gonna be the best Sonic game since Sonic 3 & Knuckles.

Anyone else think it will?

Man, over the last couple of days I've been tempted to buy so many 3rd party DS games that I didn't think I would even be interested in. Castlevania, Lost in Blue, Worms, and now Sonic looks ridiculously good. That's on top on the first party games... Jeez, I'm going to go broke this fall. :(

This to me (so far) looks as good as or better than New Super Mario Bros.

I was a "Mario > Sonic" guy back in the day, but I'm dying to play this. It looks freaking hot.

Nice music on the trailer too!

Solly kicks All our arses though.

Dude, I'm not even going to TOUCH Solly. That person just plain scares me to death. I'm nto worthy of being mentioned in the same breath.

Of course, if Solly posts on these boards, I'll gladly rescind my initial statement in a heartbeat :P

This looks so damn tight that my frustration for a 100 dollar price point continually hurts me. I may cave in by December too many great games will be out by then.

I don't like the way Sonic plays, but the graphics in Sonic Rush look a lot better than the graphics in New Super Mario Bros. It looks a lot more Sonicy than the New Super Mario Bros. looks Marioy, too.

Just finished the large video. Unfortunately, it's not super good quality like I had expected.

I'm glad the other bosses shown are as good as the first one. Even the first one blasts every Sonic Advance boss out of the water.

If the DS were a SEGA branded handheld, there would be many better games. The world in general would be a better place. Flickies in the trees would sing glorious hymns, blue hedgehogs would wink at you after they finished shining your shoes, two-tailed foxes would toss you your morning paper with a smile, and three badasses and a kangaroo would escort you into your workplace. Yes indeedy.

Oh, and the DS wouldn't have sold shit, but that's neither here nor there.

Looks nice!

This is a dumb question, but when Sonic goes between the two screens, what happens to his sprite? Is it divided entirely across, regardless of the space between them? Or does it disappear? I couldn't tell from the vids.

I'm sure the eye would adjust to either case.
