Even the mightyest breasts in the land cower before the flaming tatas!

I heartily approve of that picture. Tenchi no Mon interest goes up a notch..or two.

Damn, that looks really nice. The character models are excellent. Wonder if they'll go for 60 fps or focus more on saving battery life?

Looks like they improved the particle effects, they look more colourful now. PSP needs more RPGs like this one.

Lol, the PSP needs more RPG's period :lol. I'm guessing it's a safe assumption that this hasn't been officially announced for a US release right?

No, YOU can't like the way a game looks unless it's for a system you own.

;)

You left yourself open for that, c'mon.

Not yet, but I honestly can't see SCEA passing this one up. Hopefully Climax delivers, it's been awhile...

Jarrod, GameStop has a North America release date of 11-15 from SCEA. I'll be getting this on 7-21 of course and then Tenchu Shinobi Taizen on 7-28. :)

Oh, good news then! :)

I wonder if they'll keep the JP title?

The official site also updated with new pictures (some are the same as above as they were posted elsewhere first) and chracter designs. This game is starting to look REALLY good now. The Korean character designer's art really rocks and the world looks varied enough to stay interesting.

One thing I noticed from the trailer is that it seems you collect standard movesets from various regions as well as special attacks and spells. Standard movesets basically break each move you collect down to an equippable "move" and subsequently you can configure your own martial art "styles" by equipping a bunch of various standard moves into a string of combos. In battle I believe you can change from various configured styles on the fly, hence changing what and how moves/combos behave in battle. Looks really interesting, I can't wait! :D

From ncsx.com -

Preorders are welcome for the July-August 2005 issue of Famitsu PS2 magazine which includes a UMD playable preview sampler of SCE's Tenchi no Mon action-adventure game.

Did anyone pick up this issue? What's the scoop on the playable?

EDIT: its hitting the newstands June 17th!!! $19.50 (shipping incl) at ncsx.com

EDIT 2: BTW ncsx.com has the game up for preorder - just ordered for $60 including shipping. :D

Do we have any idea what exactly the controls are?

EDIT: WTF? $19.50 for a new RPG with innovative gameplay?

Any news if the ps3 will play these games or an addon that will?

The controls are like any other action rpg, except instead of doing the same attacks over and over when comboing with one button, you configure how the combo string for each "style" that's active at the time will go based on a huge subset of moves you learn through the game. There are also special attacks and spells that use other buttons. Otherwise it's pretty much a normal 3D action RPG with great art. :D

Damn, I wish the video was in mpeg/avi format so I could throw it on the PSP. :(

The PSP video converters should handle this file fine. Rename the extension to .wmv and see if they accept it. They should. :)

Wait a second, is this done by the Legaia team?

Nope, this is by Climax. They did Landstalker/Dark Savior/Time Stalkers/etc. Recent Climax games haven't been all that hot but hopefully they got the magic back! :D

Oh god, do I buy a psp or not?... I would much rather play rpg's on a tv. Is there really an adapter coming for the psp?

Heya Duck - 3gp won't support it even after renaming it.

Maybe converting with TMPGE first?

Interesting, I've noticed that this video is giving me problems too. Oh well, damn Windows Media files. :(

I hope Sony releases a MP4 trailer like other developers are starting to do. :D

Nope, the only converting software I have is PSPvideo9, and unfortunately the only formats available to convert are mpeg and avi files, I believe. I tried changing it to an avi (and it does play, since it's a WMP format), but it still wouldn't convert. :(

Awesome! You rock! Who needs the Famitsu UMD demo for Tenchi no Mon when we have Juggle's Tenchi no Mon Memory Stick Trailer! ^_^

July can't come sooner enough. :D

Well, Dark Savior/Time Stalkers weren't all that hot either. :P

From what I understand though, almost nobody from the prvious incarnations of Climax is at the company now, it's almost entirely new staff. Which is probably a good thing imo, considering how the company spiraled after Genesis.

Those were the "recent" games I mentioned. Climax hasn't really made anything since. Shocking eh?

Well no one knows who's working on Tenchi no Mon, but it doesn't look like complete shit so I'm willing to believe it's a new staff. :D

Well, there's always Runabout. Plus the Climax Graphics/Crazy Games spinoff mess. :P

I do find ex-Climax teams to usually make imprssive games though. Camelot, Matrix, Cavia, Max and Bunkasha all doing pretty well the past decade.

Tenchi no Mon does look fanatastic though. Hopefully it marks a return to Land Stalker style greatness. :)

Not too odd, there was no way Sony was going to pass up publishing this after how Untold Legends performs. There's already a hungry RPG fanbase on the system so they've gotta feed it.

Yet SCEA passed up PoPoLo Crois for the 6th time. :P
