My issue is that we already fucking know from ten miles away that none of this "shakeup" to the formula is organic. It's pulling the most generic, tired cliches of the Modern Game into a series that has been limping behind other gaming trends for over a decade now. The last one sold poorly so they're just throwing everything at it that they believe defines the big sellers out there. A day late and a dollar short as usual for Nu Tomb Raider.

I'm willing to bet that what this means is the same boring building blocks of the last few entries' gameplay stretched across wider areas because what really sells is the promise of 100 hours of content. What you'll probably get is ride bike to map marker A, engage in "stealth TPS" against Bad Guy Raider camp #65 posted outside a tomb that will consist of yellow painted ledges and auto-platforming with zero stakes. Lara will talk to herself in an overly serious tone just so the last fucking tard will understand to start some gleaming generator or push a beyond-obvious cart.

Im actually disappointed they are abandoning their engine......remember this is 2018.
The engine was pretty damn powerful and produced pretty good visuals and beyond CPU issues ( I blame myself) was actually pretty performant).

I was actually hoping they would keep going with it and integrate more RT technologies into the engine.
Their engineers always praised the engine......I guess for what they want to do next they need Nanite and/or Lumen cuz otheriwse I wouldnt mind them still using the same engine, it works well and was producing visuals that I dont think anyone could call shitty?

The survivor series was good......not 10 outta 10 good but it was a good series.

It's a completely different character, the same as the "Indiana Jones" from the last game is NOT Indiana Jones, no matter his resemblance to Harrison Ford. These are cosplayers.

As a standard adventure game that try to copy Uncharted, they are ok, but they should not be called Tomb Raider. Lara Croft is pretty much like Indi or James Bond. The chick from the reboot is your standard "nice girl" from any liberal university.

Even hoping in this case means someone hasn't really paid attention to the latest trilogy and how much of a character building disaster it was.

It's basically like hoping the next Pokemon game will be a big-bidget production, and we all know how it goes every single time.

I think we're shit out of luck. It's going to be a flat, butch, Lara. A "mature" version who has had it with toxic men. Luckily she's about to go on an lesbian adventure in India where she will cry about all her past endeavours and tell everyone that she has donated all artifacts to their rightful cultures and donated all of her wealth to multicultural awareness organisations.

In between we will chase down a bunch of bad white men, trying to stop them from being mega toxic. Insert some Trump/Tate stand-in as a bad guy boss.

All while being accompanied by a diverse cast of allies with sad back stories, but luckily they've become the best in their trade in spite of also being full-time professional victims.

Damn I had forgotten they also dropped their engine and will use UE5.
So not only is it going to be woke open world slop, it will run like shit on consoles too (and probably PCs under $1500).
