Anyway, I think it looks corny as hell and completely out of place. For no apparent reason, this screams "Toronto" to me, not NYC. And "Freedom Tower"? Jeez, who are these people that green-light such lameness?

Looks fine to me. At least it's not some thing where it's basically a variation on the twin towers with giant fucking eagles on the roof and fireworks shooters on the sides that ignite every morning, or "NEVAR FORGET" spelled out in the framework

They haven't completely finalized the design yet, but don't expect any big changes.

Personally, I think it's lacking. But with a few tweaks, I might warm up to it.

Keep in mind that the only design that is anywhere near final is the Freedom Tower. The other new skyscrapers in that image are just placeholder designs- they each are actually going to be designed by different architects.

In fact, the other skyscrapers may not get built, depending on how long Silverstein's money lasts.

I'll simply add that Donkey Kong needs to be climbing the Freedom Tower, and that Mario needs to be platforming to him and Peach, who's trapped in Kong's clutches.

It would probably fit better in Hong Kong, which is already a city of glass. I'm not a great fan of the design, I doesn't have the presence the twin towers had, but to be fair I think it would look quite different from ground level.

I mean, the thing about the Twin Towers always was, everyone hated them. Working there, looking at them. Well except the tourists.
